PROJECT INFORMATIONThe National Border Security Project (NBSP) will establish comprehensive border monitoring and control capabilities for the nation. It will also enhance security along all international frontiers, improve rapid response capacity to border incidents, strengthen sovereignty and territorial integrity, and support counter-smuggling operations.

  • India Border: 82 outposts along the 1,643km border.

Outpost Specifications
Each Outpost Will Accommodate:
  • 50-person company garrison.
  • 1 light armoured vehicle (LAV).
  • 2 four-wheel drive supply trucks.
  • 3 120mm mortar systems.
  • 1 medium-sized VTOL UAV system.
  • 15-foot communications mast with radar mount.
  • 1 BEL battlefield radar, 0.7-14km range.
  • Standard military infrastructure and utilities.

Infrastructure:
  • 594 tactical outposts at $1,064,000.00 each.
  • Gravel road network connecting to main paved roads.
  • Supply and maintenance facilities.
  • Regional command and control centres.

Defensive Infrastructure:
  • Defensive berms and anti-vehicle trenches.
  • 3-meter high reinforced concrete/masonry wall with firing positions.
  • Triple-strand concertina wire on wall tops and approaches.
  • Single reinforced gate with vehicle barriers and inspection area.
  • Integrated bunkers and weapon emplacements in perimeter wall.

Buildings:
  • Command post, communications centre, and briefing room (80 m2).
  • Two barrack buildings with accommodations for 25 personnel each (150 m2 per).
  • Dining and food preparation facilities (100 m2).
  • Basic medical care and emergency treatment (40 m2).
  • Hardened bunker for mortar rounds and other ammunitions and weapons (60 m2).
  • Basic repair and service bay for vehicles (80 m2).
  • Equipment, supplies, and spare parts storage (60 m2).
  • Power plant and fuel storage (40 m2).
  • Entry control and duty personnel guard house (30 m2).

Observation & Communication:
  • 3 8-meter elevated positions with 360 degree observation capability.
  • 15-foot steel mast as communication antenna and radar mounted with concrete foundation.

Utilities Infrastructure:
  • 1 30 kW capacity diesel generator.
  • Underground tanks with 30-day supply capacity of fuel.
  • 10,000-liter storage tank of clean water plus one backup shallow well.
  • A septic system and waste disposal facility.
  • Radio systems and satellite uplink capability.

Access Infrastructure:
  • Gravel single-lane road, connecting to nearest main road.
  • Large cleared area outside main compound for helicopter landing the size of a CH-53E Super Stallion.
