PROJECT INFORMATION | The Thaukyegat II Hydropower Plant is a medium-scale, 120 MW run-of-river project designed to bolster Myanmar's central power grid. It draws water from the Sittaung River and delviers sustainable, low-emission electricity to both urban and rural areas across south-eastern Myanmar. It will generate roughly 560GWh annually, powering over 450,000 homes. This will reduce the region's reliance on diesel and coal generation. It will support agricultural electricification and irrigation in the region. 600 construction jobs will be created, with 80 permanent positions upon its completion. |
