PROJECT INFORMATION | Department for Home Affairs National Security Office Cape Hooker Prison (Black Site) DESCRIPTION The Department for Home Affairs has authorised, at the highest possible level, the construction of a black site prison in order to interrogate individuals, organisations and networks that are suspected of being responsible for, planning or capable of an act of terror within the Kingdom of Sweden or territory of her allies. This facility will be constructed purely to detain and interrogate enemy combatants. The status of these sites has long been in international disrepute given the ethical and legal complications of their existence; thus Cape Hooker will be a covert facility, unidentifiable from the exterior. LOCATION Marion Island, Cape Hooker -46.978403, 37.829829 FACILITIES From the exterior the site will appear to be nothing other than a military installation, a short distance from the multi-branch operational Marion Island military facility. The placement is strategic as to divert any suspicion. - Administrative Section - Cell Wing (x15) - Wet Room (x3) - Sensory Deprivation Hold (x3) - Communications and Security Centre - Resource Storage - Helicopter Landing Pad - Air Traffic Control Office - Vehicle Parking Lot SECURITY As standard the facility will be covered with secure CCTV networks to minimise blind spots on the exterior and prioritise high security areas within any buildings or facilities. The perimeter is covered by motion sensors to identify any potential breach. Internal doors are steel and controlled by the Communications and Security Centre at all hours. All buildings, hangers and facilities are secured by gateway pass doors supplied and activated by the Swedish Department of Home Affairs and Defence only. A barbed razor wire topped reinforced concrete wall surrounds the facility and any external monitoring positions. Adequate road and pedestrian networks surround and allow travel within the base. Any vehicle gates are secured by recessed traffic control measures. The property is sound proof. All windows looking into the site and one-way from the interior. There is no external signage of any significant other than those indicating no unauthorised access. Emergency back up generators secure the supply of electricity, gas, water and sewage if necessary. Internal burglary and fire alarm and suppression systems installed. |
