PROJECT INFORMATION | Construction of a temporary Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants Storage and Handling Facility on the site of the attempted construction of the Australian Casey Station in Wilkes Land. The development is intended to be resourceful and capable of managing the Antarctic climate whilst remaining cost effective to remain a temporary institution. A secondary site of a similar capability will be constructed on Heard Island to support the recently constructed Ballistic Missile Launch Facility in the sub-Antarctic. The site will remain capable to adequately fuel and maintain military-grade equipment in air, maritime and ground capacities alongside safe storage, fire suppression and prevention systems. Engineers working within the Swedish Royal Navy will temporarily maintain this facility and report any decay or maintenance issues directly to the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters for escalation. Given the construction of one having been completed already, albeit having since been entirely destroyed during the Antarctic Conflict, the same contractors would be acquired on the second occasion to reduce costs and increase the longevity of the structure. The immediate area would be safely dredged to ensure the entirely of the Swedish Royal Navy fleet can safety operate at the site whilst ensuring it does not effect the integrity of the island itself. |
