Sweden is the sole and majority shareholder of Kockums, a subsidiary of Saab Group, and as a result Sweden retains majority ownership over the Collins-class Submarine. Within the corporation it was noted that Saab Group has no intention to hinder free access to this particular product by the Australian government however domestic production will continue in line with the guidance set in place by the Defence Material Administration governed by the Swedish Department of Defence.

Production would continue, and without Australia owning any part of Saab Group, they would have no knowledge of the manufacture even occurring.
