The Bragança Restoration

Portuguese Monarchist Supporters in Lisbon wave the old Flag once more
November 5, 2013

Hello everyone and welcome to Telejornal. What was previously known as the Assembly of the Republic has unanimously decided to reform the Government and reinstate the Monarchy. All of this happened overnight and surely, this has been a controversial subject for most politicians, although the populace seems to be neutral on the subject. Many parties have slammed against the assembly for such an 'unconstitutional move' and called for a for a public referendum. We still await for a formal response.

The Assembly has decided that the best candidate for a monarchy would be what we had known as a certain Duke of Braganza, Dom Duarte Pio. We have stories regarding the what once was known as the 'People's Monarchist Party' has been disbanded and rebranded as simply 'Monarchist Party' although we have to confirm these claims. The assembly has released statements regarding the issue on the new government.

"The Assembly has decided to put the king back on his throne, and for the people out there who claim that we would revert back to the old tyranny, we will assure you that things would probably be the same, although we wont have to wait in line to elect a president!"

Earlier this morning, supporters carrying the old flag seem to be marching around Lisbon and were heading their way to the Palace of Saint Benedict, shouting chants such as; "Long live the king!","Viva a revolução!", or even "Recriar O Imperio Portugues!" Police were quick to respond and controlled the situation.

Police advise people to stay in their homes until the situation outside dies down, which would come to a couple of days. Police has also warned us that even though Portugal is now a Monarchy, the old laws still apply while they wait for the Government to fully adapt to the government change.

"Yeah it's crazy man, I mean the kingdom had died 103 years ago, and it's weird seeing it alive now, in 2013."
A supporter comments

"I don't care whether we are a Monarchy or a Presidency, as long as the leader decides for the good of the Portuguese."
An old man remarks

"Right now, I'm very pissed at what has become on our lovely nation, we still have problems like poverty, crime, and corruption, and now they decided to rebrand the country? For what? I mean what does this change?"
An angry man criticizes

Nonetheless, 'the Royal Assembly' has announced that elections for the House of Lords and the Royal Assembly itself would arrive soon, and thus people should be ready to vote for the right candidates. And now for Sports!

Green Portugal Bill

The Government takes notice on impending Global Warming and Climate Change
February 16, 2013

Hello everyone and welcome to Telejornal. The Royal Assembly has just posted a new proposed bill on keeping the Portuguese streets clean. The so called 'Green Portugal Bill' is only one of the incoming laws and projects that the new administration plans to implement in the coming months.

The bill looks forward to instating a new holiday that is devoted to cleaning, planting, and other activities to promote a cleaner and greener Portugal.The holiday is said to be celebrated on the 3rd week of February annually, and businesses and schools shall be closed for the entirety of the day.

Cries of joy would be heard from the Greens and the Climate Change activists, as they would applaud and congratulate the Government for such a progressive move. However some people are deeply offended, one critiqued;]

"This is not what the majority of our people want. There is still many problems left to address and it is clear that there has been some sort of conspiracy to help the higher ups and the companies to continue on exploiting the Portuguese people."

The question whether the bill shall be accepted or denied still stands, and the Government hopes to answer that question within the next few days.

Up next;
"From wheel chair to one of the leading Portuguese researchers in robotics, meet Agueda Amanda."

Green Portugal Day

The Portuguese youths plant trees in respective areas
February 24, 2013

Hello everyone and welcome to Telejornal. Coming back on a certain bill that the Assembly had just approved and put into effect on the 17th of February, numerous police officers on watch for any danger, students, and adults alike had flocked to the designated areas for the historic celebration just this morning. Rivers, streets, and beaches were cleared of trash and garbage as thousands of volunteers and citizens alike took part in the activity.

Sermons of cleaning, recycling, and environmentally friendly lessons were taught as the diligent and responsible citizens of Portugal were resting under the shade after the general Nation-wide cleanup drive. After the event, the average Portuguese citizen would be expected to know the dangers of climate change, and hopefully would teach the values of helping the planet for generations to come.

Beaches were cleared of trash and wastes

Companies were also taught on the dangers of plastics, and on how to manage their waste more efficiently. Although not forced, all businesses in Portugal are recommended to follow eco-friendly practices for the good of the planet.

Children and Adults had fun all throughout the day, and no significant and serious opposition arose from the general populace. In social media, avid Portuguese users quickly took part in the trend of #GRPORDAY as they shared their experiences to the internet.

Dom Salomão Nilo Sousa, the Minister of the Environment, was the mastermind and spearheaded the event, calling it a 'huge success' He had told press that he hoped that people would apply what they learned on 'Green Portugal Day' to their everyday lives, changing the world as we know it everyday.

That's it for tonight's news, up next;
"Portuguese actor stars in new upcoming blockbuster movie set in Renaissance Europe."
