From the Quirinal Palace (Palazzo del Quirinale) to the busy streets and corridors throughout the country, people are gathering in mass, waving their flags while listening to speeches from different government officials. As of this morning, most classes and offices were suspended. President Isabella Catteneo also addressed the nation in front of her supporters.
"Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed colleagues, and fellow citizens. Today marks a pivotal moment in our nation's journey. As we stand together in the second year of our socialist revolution, we reflect on the achievements, challenges, and unwavering commitment of our people. It is not merely a passage of time, but the relentless march toward a society where equality, justice, and the collective good reign supreme. In the first year of our government, we laid the foundation, transforming the structures of power, redistributing land and resources, and beginning the long, necessary work of building an economy that serves the people, not the elite. We fought for the rights of workers, peasants, and the oppressed. We promised a new society, and we delivered the first steps."
"But the second year, this year, marks a transition. A transition from the idealism of early change to the reality of implementing those ideals in the face of complex obstacles. Challenges abound, some expected, others less so. We have faced continued attempts to disrupt our progress, enemies both from within and outside our borders. We shall not forget those who are still trying to break us and shackle us with ideologies that may have worked yesterday but do not work today. However, our resolve remains unshaken. This government is not merely an administration, but a movement, a movement built on the fundamental belief that power does belong to our people."
"In this second year, we have seen our workers rise to the call of building a stronger, more unified society. The old and neglected factories are now humming with life, not under the pressure of profit but under the will of the people who control them. We have redistributed our rightful land, ensuring that no one is left without a place to call their own. Education has become a right, not a privilege, and our youth are being prepared to lead a new world. Health care is no longer a luxury for the few but a service for all."
"Yet, we know that this is only the beginning. The road ahead is long, and the struggles are far from over. But in the second year, we have proven to the world and ourselves that we are resilient. We are not defined by the setbacks we face, but by our ability to rise above them, together. The great work of our second year has been to solidify the gains we have made and prepare for the long-term future of our nation. We are establishing the mechanisms for lasting change structures that prioritize the collective over the individual, and the well-being of all over the profits of a few. Every decision we make today echoes in the future we are building. Our goal remains clear: the creation of a just society where all of Italy, all Italians, take back what is rightfully ours!
"In closing, let me remind us all that the second year is a time of deep reflection, but it is also a time of renewed determination. The road to communism is not always easy, but we walk it with pride, with purpose, and with the knowledge that we are part of something much larger than ourselves, a historical movement that will change us all for the better. Thank you, my dear comrades in arms. Stay vigilant."
After the speech, a sound applause can be heard even miles away from the capital; many news agencies also reported seeing red balloons soaring above Venice and other major population centers.
