That is why, though it has drawn criticism, I have opened my cabinet to voices from all segments of society, including those with past associations that remain painful to many. I believe this is the only way to move forward, not by forgetting, but by forging a new political ethic rooted in coexistence and mutual recognition. In this regard, I recognize clear parallels with Spain’s own path. The aspirations of the Catalan people and the complexities of Spanish national identity resonate deeply with our own journey. If it is helpful, I would be willing to offer Türkiye’s experience as a point of dialogue. Moreover, I would welcome the opportunity to mediate or support engagement between Madrid and Catalan leaders, should such a gesture be seen as constructive. A visit to Spain in that spirit would be both an honor and a chance to demonstrate our commitment to cooperative diplomacy.
