I have a request and a question regarding the current structure of our subforums. Is there a way, either through a mechanical or coding solution, to make subforums remain static in their position?

Currently, the subforums are re-ordered based on the most recent posts. However, it would be helpful if we could organize these subforums in a fixed order, similar to the country forums, which are static (or alphabetical). This would allow us to have greater control over the organization and visibility of subforums, as we can order them according to our preferences.

Great idea, I have been wondering this as well. I'd support any change toward this direction.

Just had a look, I can set the default sort order per sub-forum based on the below but just to confirm; this is for the threads inside a subforum. Not the subforum itself as they shouldn't move.

Would you prefer country subforums to be sorted by 'Title'? This basically sets the default as you could change it here:

The main problem is that the organization only shows for the logged in user, and while it is very much a cool tool the thing I had in mind is more user-customizable, where they can re-arrange the threads in any order they want.

I don't know if that is possible?

Unfortunately the only options for arranging the threads is through setting a sort order. The only way I could see it been arranged would be to have the default sort order as 'Title' (which I can do, send in a ST if you want it set on one of your threads) then just make sure your threads title are in order. Maybe prefix them with numbers or something is one idea that might give a bit more customisation but a bit messy.
