Edward Reid, Minister of the Department of Global Affairs would answer the phone. His end would also be encrypted.

"Edward Reid speaking, Minister of Global Affairs. How can I help you, Ambassador Sjögren?"

"Minister, thank you for taking my call, I was hoping to take a few moments of your time to begin the flourishing of the Swedish-Canadian relationship... after all I think there's a lot of information absorbed by modern media and manipulated in international forum which has clouded the real view of Canada. Historically, North America has been of significant assistance to Europe; I'd like to see us build our relationship into something mutually beneficial."

"Of course, Ambassador Sjögren." Reid would completely butcher the Ambassador's last name, but who could blame him? After all, how the hell does one pronounce 'ö'? "I agree, everyone seemed to think that simply because our economic stance was similar to fascism that we were automatically National Socialists... Did Sweden not vote in favor to sanction Canada? In any regards, we're always open to begin relations with nations. What did you have in mind to start off, Ambassador?"

Ambassador Sjögren awkwardly grins as the pronunciation of his name was almost a total renaming in itself, nevertheless he moved on swiftly.

"Ah, yes, I thought this might come up and the Department of Foreign Affairs were quaking in their seats when they heard my opinion on the matter - I will be quite blunt with you Minister; did the Kingdom of Sweden approve sanctions against Canada? Yes. However, it's not as black and white as that. Sweden has long been committed to supporting friends, allies and partners of the state and in this circumstance the resolution was presented by Sweden's closest ally and a historical brother... Norway. We have always unconditionally, within reason, supported the political views of the Norwegian government in pursuit of a strong alliance between our states. Would we do it again? Perhaps we'd take a better look at our ability to abstain rather than an unconditional approval."

The Ambassador takes a quick sip of water before moving on.

"Fortunately the sanctions against Canada were not approved and you have proven yourself to be a strong and stable government in some of the most fractious times in recent history, hence my contact. Now, I suppose we should naturally begin on the subject of diplomatic missions, the powerhouse to any bilateral relations. What is your view on the current Resolution of International Diplomacy that's... imposed... by the Global Assembly?"

"Of course it would come up, Mr. Ambassador, it's not exactly something that is easily forgotten... or forgiven." The Minister would listen to what the Swedish Ambassador would have to say in regards of the Sweden vote in the Global Assembly. Personally, to him, it sounded like nothing more than excuses. It was what it was however. "Blind followers are just as bad as the culprits, Ambassador Sjögren. But there's no need to dwell on it - What has been done is done.

I assume this Resolution is the one that passed a few months ago? It is quite... how to say... stuffy? But we have no strong feelings against it nor for it. I'm assuming you're bringing it up because you want our support for an alternative or something like that?"

The Minister would realize something. "However, Ambassador, I have thought of something that can entirely allow Canada to forget and forgive about the Global Assembly's Sanction vote. It would involve our own vote, given to you, Sweden - relating to the situation in Antarctica. What's your opinion on France? Because I'll be straight with you - Canada hates them and France hates Canada. We don't want France to have more territory, regardless of the type of territory or where it's located and France seems to not regard the continent with great interest and would waste this territory and its scientific potential. If Sweden were to promise giving Canada this French Antarctica territory... well, we would be nothing more than forced to vote in favor of Sweden.

What do you think?"

"We are keen for a relationship with Canada and we are keen for the past of Sweden's negligence to foreign diplomacy to be a distant memory, as I've said in the past we'd take a better look at our ability to abstain rather than an unconditional approval.

Antarctica is a unique situation, the French have shown no encouragement for the support of their claim and as far as I'm concerned have no interest in maintaining their claim hence the Australian's initially claiming it as their own... we would be keen to see Canada present in Antarctica in the interest of a strong and bespoke relationship between our countries and... in turn... we will provide you with territorial claim over the French Antarctic Territory - in return for approval in the Global Assembly and your support in the debate leading up to this."

"That's wonderful news, Ambassador. Once Sweden has made and supported Canada's claim within the Global Assembly, we will support you - alongside giving you our vote in favor of whatever your proposal to the Global Assembly is... including keeping it militarized if that's what your state wishes - as long as Canada will also be permitted to keep our region militarized. However, Canada is still in favor of assuring lasting peace so let us hope that whatever happens favors this.

Regardless, what is it you wanted to discuss regarding the Resolution of International Diplomacy?"
