Dearest Neighbour,

This letter is sent to you via the Swedish Department for Defence and marked with the appropriate security classification, for your note.

First of all please allow me to express my deepest of condolences in respect to the death of Ambassador Anders Viken who, in my eyes, is a true patriot of your state willing to work abroad to provide civil service to nationals away from home - truly serving his country in the best way he possibly can. The attack in Kosovo is undoubtedly corrosive to the Norwegian missions reputation and safety. Sweden has historically been a brother to Norway and geographically we sit arm-in-arm; I intend for our diplomatic relationship to continue in this manner too. I have been in contact with the Swedish Department for Defence and Department for Foreign Affairs pre-warning them of this letter I write to you; I would like to put forward that the Kingdom of Sweden will continue to stand by your side through this tragic situation and we are committed to providing all and any support you may need, to the best of my ability.

Please do not hesitate to contact my office direct at any hour - we are fluid to your situation and wanting to provide all the help we can.
