To whom it may concern,

I write to you on behalf of, and as a representative of, the Gustaf Royal Trust; one of the largest charitable organisations on the globe. I sincerely hope this correspondence reaches you in good time as I am sure the proposal that follows will be of great interest to you and naturally the 2000 Summer Olympic Games due to be held in Sydney, Australia which we intend to sponsor.

At present I note the only expressed interest in the games is that of Australia (the host), Thailand and Sweden (whom is yet to submit their application to the games). Whilst I understand the announcement of Sydney 2000 has only just been released we anticipate that without real incentive the games may well struggle to receive a rapid entry of nations around the world which would be a huge hit to the Olympic Games as a whole. As such the sponsorship of the Gustaf Royal Trust will see to the introduction of a total $8,500,000,000.00 to be awarded to the top three overall medal winners for the games; this will be broken down to $5,000,000,000.00 for the highest total medals won, $2,500,000,000.00 for the second and $1,000,000,000.00 for the third.

Our hope it that the prospect of winning such a substantial amount of money for their participation in the games will spur other committee's to join - and perhaps even other sponsors to help fill to pots for potential winners. However, should you accept our offer, this will require an effort by both you as the host and our organisation to promote the aforementioned possibilities.
