The Rt Hon. Charlotte Wells,I hope this letter finds you well.
Several years ago the forerm Secretary of Education, Ibrahim Baylan, had the pleasure of visiting the United Kingdom Space Agency where they met with researches, engineers and officials to discuss the exciting opportunities that your LFT program had to offer the world in the research and education space, but also cooperation between UKSA and the Swedish National Space Agency. Those discussions left a lasting impression, highlighting the immense potential that exists when our nations combine our expertise and innovation, and left pure excitement for the launch of LFT-03 in the future.
As Sweden continues to expand its national space capabilities, my government is exploring the acquisition and further development of test platforms. Our vision is to preserve and enhance the facility while continuing to benefit from the knowledge, experience and technical excellence of scientists, engineers and researches that have contributed to its successes thusfar. We believe strongly that such a partnership would strengthen both our nations research communities and provide new opportunities for advancement in space.
Secretary of Education, Roy Bergsson, will soon be visiting the Embassy of Sweden in London for unrelated engagements. Given his time in the United Kingdom, I would like to extend his invitiation to representatives your department and that of the United Kingdom Space Agency to meet with Secretary Bergsson during his visit to see where a UKSA-SNSA collaboration could end up.
I very much look forward to your response - both me and Secretary Bergsson believe this would provide an opportunity of unique collaboration.
Regards,
Edna Berfo
