On the promulgation of the Road Safety and Modernisation Act (South Africa) 2007.
I, Carl XVII Gustaf, King of Sweden on the advice of the Government and with the assent of the Riksdag, hereby ordain that:
The aforementioned Road Safety and Modernisation Act (South Africa) 2007 adopted by Riksdag in May 2007, is hereby promulgated and shall enter into force as domestic law in accordance with its provisions. This act enables and directs the modernisation of major local roads in South Africa in order to bring upgrade road surfaces, markings, signage, lighting and traffic control systems to Swedish standard, enhance road safety and traffic flow in urban and per-urban areas and to establish a framework for phased implementation across all major centres in South Africa. The Secretary for Infrastructure shall ensure the implementation of the act's provisions within the framework of existing legal and administrative structures.
