The Swedish Royal Army has been granted funding by Swedish Defence Materiel Administration to acquire appropriate vehicles for medical aid during combat.

As such governments, investors, defence industry experts and private organisations are encouraged to advertise and provide offers within the remit of this grant; please ensure that all offers include the specifications of the vehicle and cost per unit. Primarily the branch is seeking vehicles capable of a 'combat ambulance' role however offers for supporting vehicles and/or equipment will be considered as part of the tendering process.

VAMTAC ambulances are usually designed with a single cab and rear box that allows a series of different interior configurations.

From basic units to carry wounded soldiers, to medicalized units to give advanced life-support during transport. The variation in the number and type of stretchers, as well as the medical equipment included can be adapted to the client's use and criteria.

Swedish Defence Materiel Administration are impressed by the current offers provided by Spanish and Japanese organisations, the tender process is now approaching its closing phase.
Remaining offers are requested as soon as possible, before the final contract is agreed.

The contract is awarded to the Kingdom of Spain with the URO VAMTAC of ambulance variation - a price is requested for 16 units.
