Having encrypted and encoded his line of communications Foreign minister Al-Yassir would continue the call.

"Greetings, Mr. Aswad. First things first I would like to commend your government for having stood firm in the face of western attempts to undermine the national sovereignty of Egypt, with that out of the way I believe it is time that our two countries strengthen our relations with one another and pursue a program of Arab unity so as to enable the development of our respective economies and guard against the power hungry urges of both the east and west. Yours thoughts with regards to these sentiments?"

"Minister Al-Yassir, I msut thank you for your call and I would also like to use this opportunity to congratulate you for your Government's rise to power. We are confident it is what Syrian needed at this moment to finally push towards development and international consolidation.

My Government openly welcomes Syrian back into the international stage and is looking forward to strengthen bilateral ties both on a political as well as on a commercial and economic level.

President Zafar's main foreign policy is ona of neutrality and the refrain from involving Egypt into big multilateral alliances or organizations that could potentially affect our nations sovereignty by facilitating power of decision on internal matters to foreign powers. Therefore, we decided to not be a part of the General Assembly, and this is one of our main goals and assets.

Before we proceed, could you develop a little bit on your Governments foreign goals and intentions?"

"You are most welcome, Mr. Aswad, its not everyday I get a chance to speak with the representative of an Arab brother state such as yourself. For sometime now there has been a lapse in communications between oyr two nations but I'm most confident of the bright future that awaits us on the workd stage and in the middle east as a whole.

President Al-Assad, has made it the crux of his policy to keep Syria in a position of non alignment and armed neutrality by discouraging and condemning all attempts on the part of the major power blocs to make Syria and her people pawns in this geopolitical chess game. As a result of this desire to maintain our sovereign independence, we have decided to abstain from membership in the Global Assembly lest we be the subject of inquiry and scorn on the part of those who wish to lord over us. In addition to our refusal to partake in the global struggle for power, we have not forgotten the west's geopolitical designs regarding our territory or their support for the expansionist aims and actions of the Zionist state on our two nation's borders which is unmistakably linked to our defeats in the field and the cruel treatment of our Palestinian brothers.

It is part of my government's foreign policy to annex the entirety of Lebanon and smash the Zionist state so as to bring stability to the region and secure a future for the Palestinians with the intention of moving one step closer to Arab unity in the region."

"We are happy to hear that your nation refrained from joining the GA as well, a very wise decision.

Thank you for your clarifications, we surely have a lot in common regarding foreign policy. You also have a very ambitous goal in relation to Tel Aviv, which might eventually spark the interest of western nations, who conveniently are always at hand when the independence of that country is at stake. Be aware that any action will quickly result in a US or british fleet being stationg off your coast. It happened in the past, and with their current Governments, it will happen again."

"In the past, the measures taken by my country's government in relation to the presence of shall we say subversive elements came under fire as did our explicit support for the armed struggle in Palestine against the western backed Zionists, because of this rather swift backlash on the part of the western power bloc we have ceased all interaction with respect to the global assembly.

You are most welcome, Mr. Aswad. Taking into account these commonalities in foreign policy among ourselves will prove to be of great value in the near future. As for our goals, we can only expect opposition from the west which for all extensive purposes the driving force of Zionist efforts. We shall not hesitate to defend ourselves or our national honor but for now let us wait and see."

"I see, I hope we can support your Government not only through material issues but also with counsel and hard learned experience.

As a particular starting point in bilateral cooperation, how about we discuss the possibility of setting up trade routes between our nations? What exports would Syrian be interested in delivering to the big egyptian market? We are looking at the same time to open new commercial opportunities for egyptian gold, copper, fruits and oil.

As for military hardware, should you required anything, we currently operate some soviet equipment that we would be able to produce, if required."

"That would be most appreciated, My country's government is still in the process of getting its bearings as we near the end of this century, we need all the help we can get.

With regards to diplomatic relations, I am incline to agree that trade would be a most excellent way to approach such matters as these. My country would be more than willing to offer the Egyptian market with Fruit, Cotton, and Crude Oil among other items in exchange for shipments of Gold and Copper.

On the subject of military hardware, I'll do what I can on a case by case basis to stay in touch should necessity require it."

"We are happy to hear that we can proceed with the commercial exchange. To which harbors do you wish to have the egyptian goods delivered? All Mediterranean and Atlantic trade, coming and going to Egypt passes through the port of Alexandria, our main point of trade. I think a fortnightly exchange would be appropriate.

Regarding the military equipment, is there anything Egypt can provide to cover basic needs?

As for foreign affairs, may I inquire how your nation is developing in terms of relating with other nations? We would like to thank you for the exceptions granted to Egypt to continue operating in Syria, even in mids of your very positive reforms."

"Ideally speaking, Egyptian exports should be delivered to the port of Latakia on a fore nightly basis.

On the subject of military equipment, my country's ministry of defense would be most interested in acquiring any T-62 tanks but apart from that we should be relatively well off.

So far, the pace of establishing bilateral diplomatic relations has been for lack of better words slow. I imagine this has something to do with the interworkings of my country's bureacratic institutions. As of recent we have taken measures to establish contact with France, Sweden, and China with a fair amount of progress being achieved.

Your country is most welcomed to continue its commercial ventures and business affiliations in Syria, courtesy of President Al-Assad who is currently engaged in enacting sweeping reforms designed to restructure the national economy and promote the growth of foreign investment but also employment."
