Ambassador Mr. Paisan Rupanitkit dials a call to Mexico Foreign Affairs. He is sitting at his desk. He is looking through the window. The phone line is encrypted by NIA.

Deputy Assistant (DA) to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Pablo Hernandez would answer the phone. Having communication with Thailand in the past, he felt it was appropriate to take the call.

"Good evening, Deputy Assistant Hernandez, how can I help you?"

"Good evening! You must be mister Pablo. I remember that surname. How is your day? I have some questions to ask you today. It is about the situation in the Middle East. May I ask your opinion on the overall situation in the region?"

"Not too bad, could be worse. The news in Juárez and Tijuana just sounds terrible. Thankfully I'm here in Mexico City, with my family. I hope all is well with you and your family.

To be fair the news in the middle east is troubling. From my understanding Mexico is planning to stay out of this situation and let the other nations take the lead. Mexico does stand with Israel however. Given that the land is theirs. Whether it be from another power giving it to them in the past or winning wars to justify their claims. Israel is an autonomous state and must remain. It will be hard to provide any sort of aid in that region for us due to the blockade, and Military intervention is out of the question for us as well. The Mexican Armed Forces are not ready for any sort of forward deployments beyond our sphere of influence in North and South America. While the Mexican Navy does possess 51 Modern Vessels, more than half are Patrol Craft for coastal waters and not the ocean. The Mexican Air Force is also lack luster when it comes to aerial supremacy. The Army and Marines however are at a capacity to fight, if they had the logistics to assist them. But as I stated before, the government is reluctant to get involved in their politics. Seems odd to me, that they took such a great interest in South Africa but not in the Middle East.

May I ask what Thailand and your stance on this?"

"Our student exchange program is currently in screening. I hope the situation will calm down before the program start. Be safe, mister Pablo.

Many countries might be involved in the Middle East right now. It is like we are going to the war era again! South Africa's declaration of war on Sweden and Turkey's mobilization of its naval fleet is not long apart! I hope there will be no war. We have a military attaché in Sweden, which we are discussing with them about the Middle East. We believe Australia might involve in the Middle East by the Israeli side. In my opinion, South Africa is closer to Mexico than the Middle East. That might be the reason why your government is interested in South Africa more.

We are currently talking with Israel and Saudi about the cause of the situation. We are trying to dig deep into the conflict. We are trying to connect to Turkey with an emergency phone call. Our stance is neutral. We plan to ask three of them the same question. Israel is our colleague in South Africa. We have 20 thousand citizens in Israel. We need to cooperate with Israel first to help our citizens.

I saw in the news about Juárez and Tijuana are huge things. May I know deep into it? I am very curious about it."

"I couldn't agree more, I hope these terrible situations can be handled diplomatically, as it did with Sweden and Mexico. Tensions are starting to cool thankfully.

As for the student exchange program, things should be calm by the time the screening process is over. The Army and Federal Police are working hard to eliminate this surge in crime. It is still unknown if this crime wave is in part due to Guzmán breaking out of prison. There is an active man hunt for him as we speak. They caught him once and they can do it again.

The scary thing about Juárez and Tijuana is that the cartels in the region have always been at odds with each other, with the brief exception back in the 80s. But now they are working together, it's quite odd. Sonora had a small cartel but latest reports show that they've been wiped out, or possibly joined with Juárez and Tijuana. If this is true, they would have unrestricted access to the United States southern border. This would be something Mexico and the United States wouldn't be able to stop. The government is doing everything it can to prevent this from happening, however the United States has been...'slow' to respond back. This worries me because I don't think they grasp the danger that is on their doorstep."

"So, cartels are a big thing here. I am not familiar with the cartels. From what you have told me, I believe that the problem had ongoing for a long time.

At first, the ministry told me to ask you about the situation in the Middle East. I think that Mexico won't participate in this event, which I am right. I don't have anything to discuss more. Our country isn't linked by the military as well. Are you free? I want to have a chat with you before sending the report."

Ambassador Mr. Paisan would chat with Deputy Assistant Hernandez for a while if he accepted. Then they would hang up the phone.

"Yes, they are of great concern in Mexico. Although with the United States assistance, they never proved to be anything more than a nuisance.

I am free, not doing too much today, other than filing away paperwork."

Deputy Assistant Hernandez would accept as his schedule was free for that evening.
