On the other half of the monitor, a Ministry of Digital Economy and Society interface displayed a project management tool, a stark, sterile contrast to the mundane task at hand. “Detailed travel arrangements for Director-General Tongruedee Makbun?” Her eyes widened slightly, a spark of intrigue igniting. Tongruedee, she discovered, would soon embark on an official visit to Afghanistan, a mission to reinforce bilateral ties and address the lurking threat of global terrorism. A faint smile touched the public servant’s lips as she began crafting the necessary informative document, knowing it would soon be received by the Afghan Foreign Ministry.

Meanwhile, Tongruedee strolled through the Bangkok International Airport security checkpoint. News of her official visit had just broken. A security officer, his expression normally impassive, raised an eyebrow as he inspected one of her bags—large and conspicuously empty.
