He paused, occasionally seeking input from his Australian counterpart on topics of interest. "The Peace Operations Training Centre sounds ideal to me. Australia has been actively engaged in global and regional humanitarian missions. While Thailand has taken a lead role, there's still much to learn from a more experienced nation like Australia. Let's allocate fifteen naval officers for this, and the Coast Guard is particularly keen on humanitarian missions." He took another moment to ponder. "I propose sending 10 Thai naval officers to the Australian War College. Warfare has evolved significantly, with much information now public or open source. It would be a valuable experience for them to witness how different navies interpret such information. The remaining five officers could benefit from the Warfare Training Centre, which seems appropriate. What are your thoughts?"

"Very well then. That sounds acceptable to me. Once they have graduated in the class of 2004 we can look at boosting numbers for the class of 2005. The first port of call will be for all 30 to attend the Defence International Training Centre at RAAF Base Williams, which is outside of Melbourne. The school year will start very shortly, at the end of February, so I suggest getting them down promptly."

The Chief of Navy and Chief of the Defence Force would get up to shake the Admiral's hand before escorting him out of the building and back to his motorcade to take him to the airport.
