President,
I sincerely write you this electronic message to start a dialogue between our two friendly countries. Thailand and Indonesia have been cordial friends and longtime natural allies, helping one another when times were tough. We still have a soft spot for the Indonesian government and its people's interests. I can guarantee you as the present leader of Southeast Asia and Prime Minister of Thailand. We are keen to promote the growth of our friends and neighbours in Southeast Asia, and we prioritise Indonesia in this regard. Since the 1999 general election in Thailand, I have led my homeland into one of the most prosperous nations in the world. Last year, our economy had growth of over 30 per cent, receiving a powerhouse status in the region.
I invite you to Bangkok, the Government House of Thailand, for a summit with the government officials and myself. I wish to discuss our cooperation within the region, for the peace and prosperity of our friends.
Sincerely
Thaksin Shinawatra
Prime Minister
Republic of Thailand
