Minister Darragh Connolly,

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Thailand presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Ireland. We are honored to open a formal line of digital diplomatic communication between our governments.

The confederal Thai government, representing 75,086 sovereign self-governing communes across our nation, is always keen to expand bilateral ties with countries across the globe. We are delighted to learn that a new Irish government has been formed under the gracious patronage of His Majesty the King of Ireland. Thailand believes in pragmatic and mutually beneficial international relations. This is one of our pillars, making us dependable and supportive partners to nations worldwide. Thailand praises itself in Socialist Participatory Democracy as much as it is committed to transcending ideological fault lines to foster a world conducive to a human future free from war, want, oppression, and ecological destruction.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs desires to formally establish a robust and long-lasting bilateral relationship with the Kingdom of Ireland. Under His Majesty's direction, we would be grateful if the Irish government allowed our humble Thai diplomatic delegation to conduct an official visit to your nation. Deputy Foreign Minister Sukhumbhand Paribatra would lead such envoys to pursue an amicable and respectful relationship with Ireland.

Thailand stands ready to stand in solidarity with Ireland as it pursues its national interests on the global stage. We believe that transparency, mutual trust, and consistent collaboration serve as the foundations of any relationship. We implore the Royal Irish Government to consider Thailand as its potential partner worthy of exploring mutual interests that will enrich our nations and bring further prosperity to our citizens.

We eagerly await your honored response. Until then, please accept, Your Excellency, the highest consideration along with my best wishes for the further development of our future multi-faceted cooperation to gain foundation in the coming years.

From the Office of Foreign Affairs

To: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Socialist Republic of Thailand ( Bossza007 )
From: Darragh Connolly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kingdom of Ireland

Honored Minister Sathirathai,

It is with respect and sincerity that I extend greetings from the Kingdom of Ireland, under the divine and lawful reign of His Majesty King Cormac Rua Ó Dálaigh I.

We have received your message with gratitude and note your expressed interest in opening formal relations between our two nations. His Majesty’s government, while monarchist in foundation and deeply rooted in Catholic and Gaelic tradition, welcomes diplomatic dialogue with foreign states who act in sincerity and clarity. The Thai government’s stated commitment to mutual respect, global stability, and the flourishing of nations is noted and appreciated.

By royal approval, I would be pleased to receive Deputy Foreign Minister Sukhumbhand Paribatra on Irish soil. His Majesty has assigned Ambassador Aidan McCourt, our appointed envoy to Thailand, to assist in preparing the arrangements for this engagement. Ireland believes that in-person diplomacy remains the strongest foundation for understanding and respect.
While our ideological frameworks differ greatly—your state being a socialist confederation and ours a divinely sanctioned monarchy—His Majesty has instructed me to look beyond structure and toward substance. The world, as it stands, faces rising instability, fractured institutions, and deepening mistrust between blocs and powers. It is in that context that Ireland seeks not alignment, but understanding—especially with those nations who pursue their own sovereignty with conviction.
If agreeable to your office, we would welcome preliminary discussions focusing on areas of mutual interest, including trade, cultural exchange, and global diplomatic reform.

In the name of Christ and His Majesty King Cormac I, may this be the beginning of a respectful and meaningful exchange - Darragh Connolly Minister of Foreign Affairs Kingdom of Ireland

Minister Darragh Connolly,

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Thailand is pleased to learn that His Majesty has graciously endorsed and permitted our confederal delegation to visit the Kingdom of Ireland. Rotating Coordinator Thaksin Shinawatra conveys his sincerest gratitude to the Royal Irish Government’s openness and forward-looking outlook.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sukhumbhand Paribatra and his delegation will rely on the local enforcement service to ensure their safety while the confederal government arranges their accommodation. Thailand seeks to engage in a comprehensive discussion with Ireland to explore topics of mutual interest. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk on the path of establishing a robust and long-lasting bilateral relationship with your nation.

Please accept, Your Excellency, the highest consideration and my best wishes for the continued dialogue between our countries serving the greater good of our citizens.

The chartered Thai Airways A330-300 departed from the Suvarnabhumi Airport at one in the afternoon local Bangkok time. The Thai delegation travels far and long before arriving at Dublin International Airport around ten in the morning the next day. Deputy Foreign Minister Sukhumbhand was not the type to conduct official visits frequently like his counterparts in the Ministry. Normally, he worked behind the scenes to coordinate Thailand’s provincial federations’ agreement on the confederal foreign policy. Today, however, he would step into the frontline and build a respectful and cooperative relationship with Thailand’s potential new partners in Ireland with his team’s assistance.

The Thai Airways A330-300 touched down just past ten in the morning, greeted by overcast skies and light wind across the executive tarmac at Dublin International Airport. A Crown Security Executive (CSE) team met the Thai delegation at the aircraft, bypassing standard Customs entirely. Credentials were checked quickly and without ceremony.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sukhumbhand Paribatra and his party were escorted to a waiting convoy of black Áras diplomatic vehicles, each bearing discreet state plates. The vehicles moved without sirens or escort through the capital, passing along the quiet spine of government buildings as morning traffic built around them.
Their destination was Teach na gCairde, the Guest House of State, located in a secure compound directly between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the smaller Royal Palace of Tara in Dublin. The residence, walled with stone and flanked by laurels, is used exclusively for high-level diplomatic visits.
As the vehicles pulled into the private courtyard, Minister Darragh Connolly stood waiting at the threshold, accompanied by a court-appointed translator from the Office of Protocol. No press were present. The Irish and Thai delegations exchanged formal greetings in the entrance hall.
Minister Connolly welcomed the Deputy Foreign Minister on behalf of His Majesty and offered the house for rest and preparation. Warm tea, fruit, and bread were served while luggage was placed in the suites.
Deputy Minister Sukhumbhand was given the upper east chamber, a quiet room with a view of both the river and the chapel dome across the garden. The translator remained on standby, and the Thai delegation was invited to rest ahead of a formal dinner later that evening at Ministry House.
Security remained quiet and close. No armed presence was visible from the street. Inside, plainclothes CSE officers watched over the guest halls while Constabulary units rotated along the perimeter
