Prime Minister,

I hope you are in good health and high spirits. It is my utmost honor to be communicating with you today.

The Republic of Thailand and the Kingdom of Sweden have enjoyed a long-standing and fruitful partnership, particularly during the period of 1998 to 2001 under the leadership of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven. During this time, Thailand witnessed significant advancements in its infrastructure, technology, and military capabilities, thanks in no small part to Sweden's invaluable support and close collaboration. Our nations have a history of cooperation, exemplified by Thailand's deployment of humanitarian volunteers to Pretoria and surrounding regions during the Swedish-South African War. This experience, which enabled Thailand to assist over half a million people, has profoundly instilled in us a sense of responsibility towards global well-being. Thailand's current standing as a contributor to global progress is undoubtedly bolstered by the guidance and support, we have received from Sweden. I am confident that by building upon this strong foundation, we can further strengthen our partnership for the mutual benefit of our nations and the international community. In this spirit, I extend a personal invitation to meet with you at your earliest convenience, either in Stockholm or Bangkok, to discuss avenues for deepening our bilateral cooperation and fostering a future of continued collaboration.

While the past two years have witnessed a decrease in the frequency of our bilateral engagements, Thailand does not believe this reflects a deliberate withdrawal from either side. We recognize that the rapidly evolving global landscape, including events like the Middle East War, has presented unique challenges and demanded our attention. However, Thailand views this not as an insurmountable obstacle, but rather as an opportunity to demonstrate the resilience and adaptability that have characterized our long-standing partnership. On behalf of the Thai people, I extend our sincere empathy to Sweden for the unforeseen events that have impacted both our nations. We understand the significant challenges both countries have faced due to external factors, including the shifting dynamics of global power. Navigating such a complex and rapidly changing world requires not only resilience but also a commitment to fostering strong international partnerships. Thailand remains firmly committed to our relationship with Sweden and stands in solidarity with you in the face of shared experiences. We believe that by re-engaging in dialogue and exploring new avenues for cooperation, we can build upon the strong foundation of our partnership and navigate the complexities of the 21st century together.

Thailand firmly believes that the shared values and interests that have long bound our nations together remain enduring, even amidst the challenges of the contemporary world. Our commitment to democracy, human rights, freedom, stability, security, and prosperity has served as a guiding light for both Thailand and Sweden, navigating us through turbulent times. These fundamental values have formed the bedrock of our strong partnership for the past decades, fostering collaboration on issues ranging from conflict resolution in Africa to mutually beneficial economic endeavors. The tangible benefits reaped from this partnership serve as a testament to its potential for even greater achievements in the future. By rekindling our dialogue and exploring new avenues for cooperation, we can leverage our shared values and interests to address the complex challenges the evolving global landscape and unlock even greater opportunities for mutual benefit.

Building upon our shared commitment to sustainability, Thailand proposes exploring collaborative endeavors in the field of renewable energy. Thailand's highly regarded Renewable Energy Training and Research Institute (RETRI) in Nakhon Pathom offers a valuable platform for our experts to exchange knowledge and collaborate on the implementation of innovative renewable energy solutions. Similarly, Thailand's extensive experience in telemedicine, exemplified by the National Telemedicine Network of Thailand (NTNT), presents potential for collaboration in bolstering Sweden's telemedicine infrastructure. Additionally, Thailand's newly established Digital and Creative Media Hub (DCMH) in Chiang Rai presents an exciting opportunity for fostering cultural exchange and collaboration in the digital and creative media domain. To further strengthen the people-to-people ties between our nations, Thailand suggests that our respective Foreign Ministries establish a joint committee to explore the feasibility of a visa-free travel arrangement, potentially benefiting both our nations' tourism industries.

Thailand firmly believes that transparency and open communication are essential cornerstones of a strong and enduring bilateral relationship. To this end, we propose establishing a regular high-level dialogue with Sweden, fostering trust and enabling us to address shared concerns in a constructive and collaborative manner. Thailand is committed to actively participating in confidence-building measures that further strengthen this trust. We believe that reciprocal state visits, such as those undertaken in the past, serve as valuable demonstrations of our commitment to this partnership. As nations experiencing rapid growth and increasing influence on the global stage, Thailand and Sweden have a unique opportunity to collaborate in addressing global challenges and shaping the future together. Bangkok views its relationship with Stockholm as a long-term strategic partnership, one that transcends current obstacles and holds immense potential for the future. We are confident that by fostering open communication, strengthening mutual trust, and collaborating on issues of shared interest, we can navigate through current challenges and build an even stronger partnership for the benefit of both our nations and the international community.

In closing, Thailand remains firmly optimistic about the future of our bilateral relationship with Sweden. We are confident that through continued dialogue, collaboration, and a shared commitment to overcoming current challenges, our nations can emerge stronger and more united than ever before. I once again extend my personal invitation to you for a state visit, either in Bangkok or Stockholm, at your earliest convenience. This high-level meeting would provide a valuable opportunity to discuss the future trajectory of our partnership, reaffirm our shared commitment, and explore new avenues for collaboration on issues of mutual interest.

Best Regards,

Reinfeldt Administration

Dear Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra,

Firstly, please allow me to extend my deepest and heartfelt appreciation for the correspondence to my office and its content. Hearing from you is without doubt a pleasure on my end.

Sweden has for many years led from the front on the political spectrum as not just a regional or continental leader but an international workhorse. We have dedicated our domestic work exclusively into the promotion of fundamental human rights and freedoms worldwide so the members of the public we are in office to serve, can live their lives without fear of suppression. Our world is truly a sculpture of our own devising and I am monumentally proud to preach the phenomenal artistry that has gone into the creation of Sweden - albeit there is always room to improve.

On that strand our government, over the past few years of my tenure, have focussed exclusively on our domestic affairs. We have taken a step back from being a global super power and moulding the course of the international stage through our various multinational organisations including the Global Assembly and more regionally the Nordic Council and Transatlantic Security Agreement. In our step into the shadows we have allowed the dynamics of global power to take their course and effect the values we have entrenched in such a position to grow further, with fresh leadership at the helm. That said, we have not become blind to the corruption, ill-intent and injustice which continues to stray. We have not become blind to two-faced political tactics and importantly, we have not become blind to our commitments to our friends, allies and partners internationally.

Thailand has been and remains a strong partner to Stockholm. This is a relationship that started as nothing and flourished through our mutual cooperation into a long-distance friendship unlike anything our nations have seen through our history together.

Your support in our operations in South Africa showed clearly your commitment to the fundamental human rights I mentioned previously and your ongoing support in our vision to stomp out the hatred we see in the world. Hatred which could not take an anymore obvious form than the former apartheid government in power in South Africa prior to our Swedish governance. Your humanitarian efforts to form in an complex and developing political environment which did not dissuade you from your clear support for our work. This extends onwards to your own domestic affairs which I hope we stood as an essential mentor in the moulding of your own core values.

It would be a great privilege to visit you in Bangkok on a date and time of your convenience. This being an opportunity to show our partnership remains fruitful, developing and stronger than ever before. I very much look forward to your response.

Regards,
Frederik Reinfeldt

Prime Minister,

I was delighted to learn of your continued positive and enduring perspective on our relationship with Sweden. I am honored to accept your kind invitation to visit Bangkok on January 5, 2004, and I look forward to welcoming you at 10:00 am at Don Muang Air Base.

The primary purpose of your visit will be to strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration between our two nations. We can discuss various topics of mutual interest and celebrate the significant milestone of the 121st anniversary of Thai-Swedish diplomatic relations. To ensure a seamless visit, I kindly request that your esteemed delegation provide details regarding its composition at your earliest convenience. This will allow us to make the necessary arrangements for your accommodation and ensure a comfortable and productive visit.

Should your visit extend beyond one day, we would be honored to accommodate you at the Phitsanulok Mansion, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Thailand. This gesture serves as a symbolic token of our deep respect and warm hospitality. Your safety and security are of utmost importance. Comprehensive security arrangements will be undertaken by the Metropolitan Police Bureau, supplemented by the expertise of the Republic of Thailand Navy's special force unit, the Republic Shield, renowned for its expertise in VIP protection. I am confident that your visit will be a resounding success, further solidifying the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Sweden.

We are committed to leveraging public diplomacy opportunities associated with your visit. The Government House of Thailand will develop a comprehensive media strategy to ensure positive coverage and engage the public in fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the strong ties between our two nations.

Your visit to Bangkok will be marked by utmost respect and consideration for ceremonial events. Upon arrival at Don Muang Air Base, a formal welcoming ceremony will commence, featuring military honors, the exchange of national anthems, and a public greeting through the media. I would be honored to personally exchange symbolic gifts as a gesture of goodwill and to commemorate the occasion. To underscore the mutual respect and trust between our armed forces, you will be invited to inspect our Guard of Honor. A ceremonial motorcade will then escort you to the Phitsanulok Mansion, where we will participate in a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, signifying the enduring growth and strength of our bilateral relationship. Following this, we will engage in a private bilateral meeting, while our respective delegations hold concurrent discussions. Should your visit span a single day, it will culminate in a State Banquet.

I once again express my sincere pleasure at the prospect of welcoming you to Bangkok. Thailand is confident that, through our shared commitment to good governance, human rights, and other common values, our nations can continue to strengthen our partnership and serve as positive examples for the international community.

Dear Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra,

I can only apologise for my delayed response to your correspondence - unexpected essential appointments have taken me away from my responsibilities in international relations to focus on issues at home. As a result I feel it is just for us to rearrange this missed meeting for an upcoming date as I am still of the firm belief that the Sweden-Thailand relationship is key to our prosperity.

I will be attending alongside my assistant and four of my closest advisors. As a matter of caution the National Security Office has insisted on the highest level of protections during my visit, a 'G1P-OS' grade. This will include a Close Protection Detail (CPD) consisting of at least three inner and four outer covertly armed agents to remain in the company of the principal at all times. Outer officers are there to maintain a sterile area around the principal and inner protection agents. Ordinarily this would be accompanied by Uniformed Protection Officers (UPO) to pre-emptively scoped and steralised a predetermined route taken by the principal and to remain in situ along the route to maintain public order and where required prisoner handling. In addition these officers will be responsible for the searching of persons and property likely to come into contact with the principal. UPO's are not required to be in direct contact with the principal. However, I presume local law enforcement or security services would take this role?

Could you also please confirm whether or not transportation will be arranged, else I will notify the National Security Office to prepare my motorcade for overseas travel.

I am excited to see you Prime Minister, as is my team. I overmuch look forward to your reply.

Dear Prime Minister Frederik Reinfeldt,

It is entirely understandable that the pressing demands of domestic governance can require a leader’s utmost attention. As a fellow head of government, I deeply appreciate the vital importance of prioritizing internal responsibilities, especially those tied to the welfare and prosperity of our citizens. Such commitments, however, do not diminish the enduring significance of the partnership between Sweden and Thailand. Our nations’ collaboration continues to be a cornerstone of collective progress, underscoring our shared commitment to global advancement and human dignity.

In preparation for your forthcoming visit, my administration has undertaken meticulous measures to ensure your delegation’s security. Operating within the legal frameworks of our respective nations, we are coordinating the presence of your security personnel and are dedicated to facilitating seamless arrangements that uphold the highest standards of safety. Recognizing your critical role as a global leader, I assure you that our security efforts are comprehensive and proactive, extending across Bangkok and neighboring regions to preemptively mitigate potential risks.

To honor your visit, we have arranged a dignified and environmentally conscious motorcade, reflective of the esteem with which Sweden is held by the Thai people. While public sentiment overwhelmingly celebrates the friendship between our nations, we have taken additional steps to affirm and sustain this positive regard. By harmonizing these logistical and symbolic gestures, we aim to reinforce the bonds of trust and mutual respect that unite our countries.

I hope this correspondence addresses any concerns you may have, and I eagerly anticipate welcoming you to Bangkok. Your presence will mark yet another milestone in the enduring friendship between Thailand and Sweden.

With warm regards,

TOP SECRET
Såtenäs Air Base
May 2005

The crisp May air settled over Såtenäs Air Base as Sergeant Lindström approached one of the Airbus A330-300 of the 1st Special Transport Flight, 1st Special Transport Squadron, Skaraborg Air Force Wing - its grey fuselage blending into an overcast sky. For the Swedish Air Force ground crew, preparing the aircraft was a meticulous but familiar process. Essential to ensure the safety of dignitaries in their almost daily venture around the world. Each step in the preflight routine was designed to ensure the safety and readiness of the massive machine.

Once cleared to do so the crew spread out around the aircraft, each member assigned a section. Lindström began at the forward fuselage, running his hand along its surface to check for damage. Other staff moved along the wings, inspecting the flaps, slats, and access panels. At the landing gear, the tires were inspected for wear and leaks, using a flashlight to sweep over the massive assemblies. High on a maintenance ladder, ground crew inspect the engine, checking the fan blades for foreign object damage, their surfaces gleaming faintly in the cold light.

Inside the cockpit, the captain and co-pilot worked methodically. Systems came online one by one as switches were flipped and displays lit up. Navigation systems are prepared whilst almost systematically they checked the flight instruments and verified the fuel and hydraulic readings. Every gauge and display was scrutinised to ensure accuracy.

Outside, Lindström observed the refueling operation, ensuring the tanks were loaded to mission specifications. The ground crew confirmed the distribution of fuel and inspected the hydraulic systems, watching for smooth movement in the flaps and landing gear. In the cargo hold, pallets of supplies were loaded and secured. Technicians ran final checks on the refueling boom, ensuring it was ready for aerial operations. Defensive systems were tested and armed as needed, completing the aircraft's mission readiness.

With the exterior, cockpit, and mission systems verified, the ground crew reconvened for a final review. Lindström gave the signal to the flight deck, and the aircraft’s auxiliary power unit hummed to life. The A330-300 stood ready, its systems prepared and its crew poised for the mission ahead.

The Prime Minister, in the company of seven of his Close Protection Detail consisting of at least three inner and four outer covertly armed agents, would arrive on the tarmac having been conveyed in National Security Office vehicles in preparation for the flight. He would walk his way up the staircase beside the aircraft and into what was essentially an aerial fort.

Once ready the aircraft, now adopting callsign SWEDE-1, would depart destined for Thailand. An encrypted notification would be sent.

Don Muang International Airport, now repurposed for domestic flight and military use

Before the arrival of Swedish Prime Minister Frederik Reinfeldt and his delegation, the Republic Government, alongside local assemblies, worker councils, planning boards, and the National Assembly, worked tirelessly to prepare for the visit of a respected and long-standing ally. Despite the absence of a formal treaty, the two nations shared a deep commitment to global peace, democracy, and security, as Foreign Minister Surakiart Sathirathai noted during a cabinet meeting. When Sweden stepped back from its role as one of the world’s leading superpowers, Thailand took on the challenge of upholding the ideals Sweden had long championed. This transition, though abrupt, became a defining moment for Thailand’s global identity. Now recognized as a pioneer in radical democracy, democratic confederalism, and worker self-management, the Republic Government hoped this visit would affirm their progress. Thailand sought not only recognition but a renewal of shared values, eagerly anticipating Sweden's acknowledgment of its efforts to embody the ideals of a nation it deeply admired.

At Don Muang International Airport, now serving domestic flights and operating as a military airbase, high-ranking Thai officials and representatives from decentralized governance institutions gathered to greet the Swedish delegation. The visit dominated headlines across traditional newspapers and digital platforms, underscoring its significance to the Thai public. Amid the hum of activity near the airport rail link connecting to Bangkok’s sprawling transit network—serving 11.2 million passengers daily—Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra arrived with his long-time assistant, Minnie, visibly six months pregnant. “Quite a crowd today, wouldn’t you say?” Thaksin remarked, his tone tinged with genuine amazement. “Do you think all these people came just for the Swedish Prime Minister? I expected a smaller turnout, but it seems those pollsters are getting more precise with modern innovations.” As he stepped forward, Thaksin was greeted by a diverse gathering, their presence unified by shared enthusiasm for the occasion.

“Maybe you should be more open to these cooperatives,” Minnie remarked, glancing at a few representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs approaching them. “Not that I’m biased just because my husband works for one of the pollster companies,” she added with a light chuckle as they moved to another part of the terminal. “At this rate, the childcare center might open right around when I give birth to Bat,” Minnie said, resting a hand on her growing belly. “It’ll be a relief to have her close to Government House while I’m working.” Thaksin gave a quick nudge, pointing toward the tarmac. “The Swedish plane’s arriving soon. We’ll need to part ways here.” “Let’s catch up later, Comrade Minnie. Coordinate everything on my behalf, please. Thank you,” he said, moving toward a group of waiting bureaucrats. From his vantage point, Thaksin observed the meticulous preparations in full swing. Representatives from the legislature, judiciary, and executive branches mingled alongside media personnel, their presence underscored by the Republic Air Force Band playing patriotic tunes. Flags of Thailand, Sweden, and the red banner waved in unison, a visual testament to the occasion’s significance.

When the Swedish A330-300 touched down at Don Muang Airport, it was guided to its designated parking spot. Thai authorities promptly rolled out the red carpet and set up the stairway for the Swedish officials to disembark. Coordination teams from both sides took approximately fifteen minutes to finalize last-minute arrangements, including accommodation, security clearance, situation briefings, and distributing smart cards. These cards identified each Swedish delegation member and security detail by role, granting operational legitimacy on Thai soil and enabling economic transactions via allocated labor tokens. Military officers and high-ranking officials stood in formation along the red carpet. Ideally, the Thai and Swedish Prime Ministers would meet at a quarter of the carpet’s length from the stairway. After a brief exchange, the Swedish Prime Minister would inspect the honor guard, representing special forces and all branches of the armed forces. The Republic Air Force Band performed with precision, playing Sweden’s “Du gamla, du fria” followed by the abbreviated “Internationale” for Thailand. If prior arrangements permitted, the two leaders would spend a few moments greeting the Thai public, including members of the Swedish community, before departing for Government House by motorcade.

TOP SECRET
Don Muang Airport
April 2006

The iconic Airbus A330-300 would descend into Thailand, with the Prime Minister suitably restrained in his armchair he'd watch as the horizon comes closer to the fuselage of the aircraft with eager anticipation. As the landing gear deploys, the aircraft stabilises, guided by the aircrafts avionics and the steady hands of the flight crew it would line up perfectly with the centre-line of the runway. The flaps would, at the direction of the Captain, extend fully, generating the drag to slow its approach. With a controlled descent, the main landing gear makes contact first, tires meeting the tarmac with a small puff of smoke as the friction sets the wheels in motion. The nose gear follows, and the thrust reversers engage, their roar echoing across the airfield as the aircraft decelerates to taxi speed.

The flight would go without a hitch, with the crew onboard operating in a text-book military-esc manner throughout the flight to ensure the safety of those onboard.

Communicating carefully with the Air Traffic Control at the airport, the aircraft would taxi from the runway towards the awaiting parking spot before swiftly beginning to shut down systems and engines. Almost like clock-work the protection personnel onboard would spring into action - dressed impeccably in their suits and their identity disguised by a pair of black polarised sunglasses. Four National Security Office agents would leave the aircraft, their sidearms holstered and hidden from view as they walk down the staircase and move into strategic positions, out-of-view of any photographers awaiting the shot of the Prime Minister in the doorway of the aircraft. Then, as if by clockwork, the Prime Minister would walk into the sunlight, buttoning his suit jacket before slowly descending down the staircase to the red carpet below. He'd then be followed by an additional three close protection agents.

Prime Minister Reinfeldt would walk down some of the carpet with a smile on his face as he extends his hand to his Thai counterpart: "What a phenomenal turn-out Prime Minister... and what a journey that was!" he holds the hand for some time for the photographers to take advantage of the momentous occasion.

Prime Minister Thaksin took Prime Minister Reinfeldt's outstretched hand. Then a wide smile swept over his face. "Prime Minister Reinfeldt, an honor to see you in person!" He expressed courtesy in the midst of flash bursts by the cameras recording the historic moments of the two leaders. Thaksin then led Reinfeldt along the route mapped out where the free media would capture them strolling side by side, which symbolizes equality and respect for one another.

Unfortunately, the recent 2006 Financial Crisis, as termed by the Bank of Thailand, has a significant effect on Thailand’s economy. Thaksin remarked along the way that the living standard had substantially decreased and the country would be entering one year of economic stagnation. “The sudden crash in global USD in circulation had drastically impacted our financial flexibility, forcing us to inject more than 8 billion USD into the economy to prevent an immediate economic collapse. However, we continue funding 8 national projects that will cost us 25 billion USD in the next four quarters.” Thaksin admitted transparently.

Arriving at the Thai Government House, a place of blending in tradition and socialist modernity, both leaders would engage in another ceremonial aspect of the state visit, from the second photo-op to the greeting between each side's representatives. After a while, Thaksin led Reinfeldt to a private meeting room. It was functional yet provided with necessary amenities. “I thank you again for visiting Thailand, Prime Minister. It speaks volumes about our countries’ enduring partnership regardless of the momentous changes in the world and our nations.” He spoke sincerely, in a personal tone.

“Once more, as pointed out in our diplomatic engagement, Thailand maintains its robust and lasting relationship with Sweden. We view this visit as an important reaffirmation and solidifying of our connection that took its origin since 1998 and the Swedish-South African War. Thailand recognizes the democratic legitimacy of Sweden's current 'occupation' of South Africa, as the South African people have expressed their right democratically, equally, freely, and openly to be part of your country. Moreover, while Australia continues to insist on taking Sweden's Antarctic territory, Thailand is steadfast in our ally's sovereignty over their land.” Thaksin's eyes were direct, his words a blend of tough diplomacy and friendly warmth.

The Swedish Prime Minister would feel an immense sense of warmth as he took hold of the Thai leader's hand - the flash of the cameras always inducing an initial sublet eyelid flinch as the flight floods the area repeatedly, each reporter keen to get the golden ticket picture to make the big money. Throughout the walk the Prime Minister would remain lead by Prime Minister Thaksin, taking in the delightful sight of the expertly choreographed arrival of his entourage. As he walked, the close protection officers he brought with him would follow behind, not close enough to find themselves captured within the photographers photographs but at a distance key to a quick response and protection where required. Their eyes constantly scanning.

"Yes, we are monitoring the financial crisis very carefully. Thailand has always had an expertly crafted focus on its people - one that will never go unnoticed or unrewarded. I am a strong believer in good karma Mr Prime Minister" he chuckles, continuing the close conversation, one he felt on a friendship level aside from their diplomatic responsibilities.

As he steps into the private room and the door is closed behind him, the close protection officers would spread through the hallway immediately outside the door, remaining respectful to the Thai personnel presumably performing similar tasks. The Prime Minister uncouples his hands from his lower back, outreaching slightly as he speaks plainly: "Mr Prime Minister when I received your invitation I was very humbled. I just apologise for how long it's taken me to get here. We have always had a very unique relationship: Thailand has remained extremely loyal to Sweden. Your sacrifices for our country are not forgotten, you are one of our closest allies."

"Look, a lot has changed over the last ten years since Sweden really made it's mark on the world stage - it's certainly changed substantially in the six years I've been in office. I have no doubt that on the horizon we will see some challenges in respect to Swedish Overseas Territory, particularly, like you say, in Antarctica. Our international endeavours have not gone without criticism, but we remain clear in our motive: peace. Our actions around the world have ensured just that for over a decade."

Thaksin nodded and answered. “That is completely understandable, Prime Minister, the time’s relentless march has never been kind to no one. The world keeps changing; the best we can do is adapt to survive or fall into obsolescence. Such is my guiding philosophy. Just more than eight years ago, Thailand was still under an absolute monarch who cared only about his wealth and power. Now, however, I am approaching the end of my second term, and we will hold the general election in February of next year. However, that will not change our nation’s unique and trustworthy relationship. My four-party coalition is polling robustly and my approval rate remains sky-high. The only change is that my Industry Minister, who comes from the Eco-Socialist Alliance, will lead our coalition into the next electoral victory.” He let out a slightly weary smile, a sign of a man who had guided his country for years.

“Thailand is no stranger to controversy, Prime Minister, my cabinet and I are known for navigating the turbulent waters of international politics. While I assure that Sweden will always have its back supported by Thailand, we also raise the issue about the ongoing Syrian Civil War. I am not sure how much intelligence our respective arms wings share, Thailand has been involved in such an internal conflict since its inception in 2003. Now that the authoritarian Assad regime had fallen, more than 20 rebel factions are waging war alongside the remnant of Russian forces. Our Department of Middle East maintains contact with most internal factions and we are pushing for a nationwide humanitarian corridor. We have secured Portugal’s and France’s support for a GA resolution calling for the Russian troops’ withdrawal. I hope that Sweden is willing to use its clout to assist us in this multilateral endeavor?” Thaksin asked with a hint in his eyes before turning on his tablet, the screen showing a detailed map of the Middle East.

“So, our plan is three-folded. All internal factions, while antagonistic, are united against Russia’s military occupation of coastal areas. France has a supportive relationship with the largest faction, the IRAL, and Thailand has been fostering a relationship with other factions, the Kurdish and the Communist. Meanwhile, we believe Portugal is actively lobbying other nations. The goal is to steer these internal factions into a common ground, which Thailand identifies as the humanitarian corridor establishment. This development will create a momentum toward a ceasefire that the international community will facilitate, the following: the nationwide democratic election in Syria and the establishment of the autonomous Kurdish-inhabited area. However, the principal obstacle is Russia, which clings to the Soviet Union’s past glory and influence. We do not want to risk a war in Syria but Thailand and our allies have a large military presence in the Middle East.” Thaksin explained calmly.

"I simply could not have worded it better myself, time does well and truly have a relentless march, one that often churns the ground beneath it. I should clarify though, whilst the political landscape surrounding our interests abroad is likely to be turbulent, we have absolutely zero intention of surrendering our hardworking into hungry hands. Our commitments are pure and well-intentioned: stable. They will remain as such" the Swedish Prime Minister reaffirms before peering around the immaculately presented room.

"I have had scarce security briefings surrounding the situation in Syria however I have to be honest I am not overly au fait with what is going on. Of course I would be interested in seeing a humanitarian mission come to the forefront, after all the general public are being forgotten about as this war wagers. Tell me, what levels of civilian casualties are we seeing? Are Russia actively resisting the development of a humanitarian corridor?" he would appear somewhat considerate of a Russian retaliation to a multilateral approach "I can understand your own security concerns, my focus is as to whether Russia is considering or even already has executed an intent to push back against a multi-national approach to this situation - we may find, as history has shown very clearly, that this could end up in direct armed conflict with Russia if our intentions are misconstrued as an attack against their interests. This is not to say I do not support you, I absolutely do, but I need to be clear on the situation over there."
