Dear Secretary Green,

Thailand wishes to express its gratitude for the friendly treatment of our nation. Our relationship has grown since: Thailand and the United Kingdom launched their student exchange program, which is something we have never seen in our history classes. In the last conversation I had with the secretary, Adams, we mentioned the potential cooperation between our Armed Forces, which I want to reach it to you for further detail. Maintaining peace in Southeast Asia and committing itself to global peace are the main goals of Thailand's foreign policy. Following the tragic United Coalition War in the Middle East, the world has entered a period of dramatic change. Instability exists in the current post-war era as numerous countries take the global stage with unique objectives that differ from those of their previous administrations. The distribution of power in the world has changed. The goal of many countries is to increase their influence. As we have seen, Europe is now the world's most stable region due to the cartel-driven Mexican war that destroyed North America's stability. Sweden is a friend of Thailand and holds a status of World Power like the United Kingdom. Since the United Coalition War, Sweden and the United Kingdom have developed a closer relationship, which we refer to as a mutual acquaintance. In Asia, we are experiencing the threat of another crisis, like what happened in the Middle East. Based on our intelligence report, we expect a bulwark against the People's Republic of China formed by the already-announced Russia and Japan. With more in-depth analysis, we discovered that there is a high chance that the Republic of China government will eventually join the pact. Russia and Japan have already recognized Taipei as a legitimate China. It will surely anger the PRC.

The Thai government wishes to propose a Naval Exercise in the Gulf of Thailand between the Royal Thai Navy(RTN) and the Royal Navy. The Royal Thai Auxiliary Fleet is willing to send five Tanker 23000 to the United Kingdom for logistic support. The Defence Ministry of Thailand will cover all funds and supplies that the British personnel or equipment need as we host the Naval Exercise. The Royal Thai Air Force has also allowed its aircraft to participate in the strike coordination mission. We are willing to provide accommodation to the British fleet and their personnel. The Thai government hopes this exercise will bring our country and military closer to each other while we are ready to partake in worldwide naval humanitarian missions together. Thailand will be eagerly waiting for your reply regarding our future cooperation.

Sincerely
Pisanu Suvanajata
Thai Ambassador to the United Kingdom
Republic of Thailand

Good Afternoon,

Firstly, thank you for your consideration and invitation to the British Armed Forces to participate in a joint exercise with Thailand. This is something we would be very eager to participate in as a stepping stone for improving relations further, and mutually beneficial for our armed forces.

We are happy to cover the costs and deploy accordingly but to determine our involvement, we would need to clarify more details for what you have in mind. This would include the type of exercise you are hosting and what scenario, what size of an exercise you are anticipating. For example, how many personnel and pieces of equipment do you intend to include, this will help us determine a suitable amount.

If you could please provide an insight into the exercise details, I will be able to provide a comprehensive list of assets we are able to deploy.

Kindest Regards,
Jason

Dear Secretary Green,

The Government of Thailand and the Thai Armed Forces appreciate your attendance at this exercise. We can attest that we feel the same way and that it will be advantageous for both armed forces. The specific details are in the paragraph below.

The Defence Ministry of Thailand supports more international cooperation between its armed forces and others, including the United Kingdom on the list. As mentioned previously, we are hosting a naval exercise in the Gulf of Thailand; it will be within our Exclusive Economic Zone. The naval drill will be on the subject of Anti-Surface warfare, as we have seen more countries construct more surface ships on a large scale. We will base our scenario on patrolling in the Gulf of Thailand, encountering unidentified vessels, before acting. The Defence Ministry will Anti-Surface warfare, in which the warship and the aircraft will conduct the drill. The exercise aims to increase operational capability and better coordination between the Thai and British Armed Forces. We are deploying eleven Naresuan-class frigates from the 1st Frigate Squadron based in Sattahip Naval Base, which will be the accommodation for the British personnel and equipment. We are deploying 17/8 F-16 AM/BM Block 20 MLU from the 407th Fighter Squadron, or the "Python." We will deploy 1,650 Naval crews and 33 pilots, including their 250 ground crews. As for airforce deployment, we will be the only ones to do such. To simulate our scenario, the Coast Guard will participate in the drill under our leadership, in which they can supply 5 Pattani-class OPVs and other smaller ships in the process. To ensure the security of our exercise, we will actively use our air search and maritime radar to surveillance the ocean and the sky, and we will restrict access to our exercise area and route along the ways.

I hope the information I've provided will allow you to choose the appropriate amount for the British deployment. Maritime Cooperation on Readiness and Training (MCRT) will be the title of the training. We will set up a time for the MCRT once we have the information from the UK.

Sincerely
Pisanu Suvanajata

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for providing further insight into the MCRT Exercise, we will be willing to contribute the equivalent of a Strike Group which will consist of:

[2] Frigates
[1] Submarine
[1] Auxiliary Ships

This would include aircraft and marine support units. Depending on when you would be seeking to start the exercise, we will be able to deploy our units with little notice.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Kindest Regards,
Jason

Good Afternoon,

I appreciate you sharing this information about the British deployment. The MCRT will take place between April 3 and April 6, 2001. Before 2:00 p.m., the British fleet and its personnel should have arrived. The commanding officer will plan for the two-day exercise on the first day before returning on the fourth day: leaving the staff's first day free for socializing and preparation. We will house the British personnel and their fleet in our naval base in Sattahip. Kindly let me know if the British Armed Forces have any requests or need more logistical support.

Sincerely
Pisanu Suvanajata
