To the French Communist Party,
The Thai People's Front, as the ruling coalition government of four communist parties, extends its sincere congratulations to the French Communist Party for winning 89 seats in the National Assembly of the French Sixth Republic. A significant portion of the French people supports your political organization to represent them in the parliament of the bourgeois state. However, as Communists, we are painstakingly aware of the limitations of such a procedural democratic system where other parties only represent the ordinary people in rhetoric.
The French Communist Party is now the only left-wing, people-oriented political party in the French parliament. You are the voice of the oppressed, and the champion of the marginalized. The goal of the communist party, as explained by Karl Marx, must be to educate and mobilize the masses in preparation for a proletarian revolution. Of course, this vision doesn't mean communists must reject all reforms as mere bourgeois compromises. We have always been the most eager to support any improvement in the people's living standards. No revolution can be fought with a resistance of emptied stomach.
Therefore, the Thai People's Front desires to establish a formal working relationship between our communist parties in the practice of proletarian internationalism. The struggle of workers knows no borders, and we must extend our solidarity to all fellow travelers walking the path of self-emancipation. We invite the leadership and rank-and-file members of the French Communist Party to visit the Socialist Republic of Thailand, a confederation of free communes operated under a decentralized, democratically planned socialist system. It is our hope that our political organization can discuss the future of revolutionary movements in France and beyond.
