Defense Minister Oscar DeSilva reports to his staff that now relations are open again Brazil expects to buy more have their high-tech wares and that it is time to start training in the ones we currently are in possession of. DeSilva tells his officers that the president wants to simulate a MOOTW, where our forces will need to evacuate possible civilian casualties as well as deal with riff-raff in the interdiction zone.

From Naval Base Rio the following ships will be deployed:

D-02- KSG Destroyer: Fully armed. Fully Feuled. Full Complement. 14 days Rations and Food.
2 Kamoz -KA-27 Helicopters. Armed: 1 UMGT-1 Torpedo

F-03 - Dageu Class Frigate: Fully armed. Fully Fueled. Full Complement. 14 days Rations and Food.
2 Kamoz -KA-27 Helicopters. Armed:1 UMGT-1 Torpedo

F-04 - Dageu Class Frigate: Fully armed. Fully Fueled. Full Complement. 14 days Rations and Food.
2 Kamoz -KA-27 Helicopters. 1 UMGT-1 Torpedo

From Naval Base Rio the Following ships will also be deployed.

The Rio Destroyer group is on 12 hours notice.

From the Naval Base Magellan in Niteroi the submarines SBN 01 and SBN 02. Fully armed. Fully fueled. Full complement. 45 days Rations and water. The submarine group is on 12 hours notice.

From Base Naval Almirante Castro De Silva, AST-01 a San Antonio Class Transport Dock will take part in the mission.

AST-01- Fully Fully armed. Fully Fueled. Full Complement. 14 days Rations and Food.
1st and 2nd Marine Battalion of the the 1st Marine Brigade. (600 Marines) - Each Marine will carry 3 MRE's and have a 3 L supply of water in their Camel Packs. They will be fully outfitted in standard Brazilian Body Protection for Soldiers. (MICH) Helmet, Modular Tactical Vest). These Marines will use the AAV 7's to come ashore if necessary. 1 Military Company of 50 medics will also be on board.

AST-01 will have 14 AAV-P7/A1 on board.
AST-01 will also use 5 K2 Black Panther MBT's (With 100 soldiers borrowed the first Armoured Infantry Brigade) to wash ashore on 1 LCU 2000 and also 10 120mm M2 RAIADO with 10 VBMT-LR's which will have the seats removed and be driven by a single driver as to add more supplies for future ferrying.

To the mission there would be added:

1 Ceibo Class Replenihsment Ship. Full Complment. Fully Armed. 8000 tonnes of fuel oil, 1000 tons of aviation fuel and 300 tons of fresh water.

Cargo: 100 Tons of Bottled Water, 100 Tons of MRE's, 300 tons of various ammunition, (bullets, mortar rounds, tank shells)

2 Almirante Gastao Motta-class Tanker each carrying 4440 tons of fuel oil.


The mission is 9 hours and counting. When the ships have reached readiness. Defence Minister will announce the battle plans.

With the time to assemble closely winding down, over loudspeakers the voice of President Romero will boom ober the loud speakers.

"Gentlemen, It is time to embark on our first truly independent naval exercise, Do the nation proud."

To the commanders he would encrypt a message: Subs from Niteroi will travel at surface at normal speed (17 knots) from HI>IH. 200 km out form Ascension island you will submerge to 240m depth. There may be enemy ships in the region, if they so much as even test you, knock them out of the water. Stay in International waters. You and the other ships will be linked at our Naval War Center, so you will be appraised of the current military situation. The subs will stay 2km apart.

To the commanders of the Rio forces. Your Destroyers and Frigate escort will head in the direction of GG>HG>IH. You travel at a steady speed of 20 knots, waiting for our subs. 30 km out from Ascension Island Begin to circle the island. But stay in International waters. The AST-01 will be a part of your task force. as will the 2 Almirante Gastao Motta-class Tank and Ceibo Class Replenishment Ship. The SA Class Destroyer, Motta Class tanker and Ceibo ship will be about 5 km behind the rest of the convoy.

The Destroyer and the Frigates will travel in a triangle formation, with the Destroyer in the lead about a km in front of the two destroyers who will will be to the left and the right of the destroyer about 1km away each from the Destroyer.

Mission is a GO: All ships leave port and head for their destination.

200 Km out from Ascension island SBN 01 and SBN 02 lower to 240 meters depth. SBN 01 will patrol the eastern side of the island. SBN 02 will patrol the western side of the island. They will stay at their best in international waters, If confronted by any British patrols they will apologize for intruding and quickly retreat to international waters.

D-02- KSG Destroyer: Now 275km Northwest from Ascension Island the D-02- Destroyer will perform its ballistic missile training drill.

A commander will order a petty officer a list of targets. The petty officer is in charge of On the screen appears:

1.)The Old Barracks, Georgetown.
2.) St Mary's Church
3.) Green Mountain

The Commander asks if the petty officer are correct. The petty officer affirms.

The Commander tells the petty officer to prepare firing 1 Hyunmoom LACM at each target.

At another station, a Commandae Suarez asks his petty officer Sanchez to pull up his targets or this training mission.

On the screen appears:

1.) RAF Ascension Island

"Are the coordinates correct, sir?' The petty officer ask the captain.

"Yes, we are to take out the airbase hangars."

"And the runway?"

Yes, every 250 meters. We must ensure it is unusable."

2.) The LACM's are already programmed to hit the Harbor at Georgetown 10 more times.

"Remember, Officer Sanchez. This is just a drill."

"Aye, sir."




Commander Suarez smiles.

A petty officer sitting at a communications desk with a microphone on turns to Commander Suarez and says, "Commander Suarez, it is Defence Minister DeSilva. He would like to speak with you.

"I'll take it right away. Here, just give me your mic."

Suarez takes the mic and wraps it around his said.

"This is Commander Suarez. No, sir. Not in anyway , shape or form. We have not detached any activity coming from the island, no patrol ships not even a helicopter. Yes, it is rather odd. How would you like me to proceed with the exercise? Yes, I concur. Aye, aye, sir."

Any unexpected activity near Ascension Island did not go undetected, any reports from those at sea, to a presence of detection equipment to manage water ways around the island all worked together and in cooperation. In addition, the lack of privacy for the ballistic missile training drill 275km Northwest of Ascension Island sparked particular concern for the British Government, a message was relayed from Ascension Island to the Brazilian Ships in Proximity, merely advising caution to retain their presence in International Waters and that the Royal Navy will be observing their activity within that region. This information was relayed onto the deployments at the Falkland Islands, which also consisted of a US Navy Presence to make them aware of such Naval Movements. Nonetheless, until further notice, they would simply be watched from those on Ascension Island whilst arrangements were made for moving from the Falklands to the new area of interest. @Moe

With this last message being not stated as private or encrypted, the Government of Argentina would take privately note of the presence of an undetermined amount of US Navy ships in the Malvinas Islands, raising certain concern among government officials and high ranking armed forces officers.

The USA has always been interpreted as a threat by the Republic of Argentine, given their explicit support to all antagonists of the country in most of the incidents during the last 6 years. Having them now only 450km away from argentine coasts was certianly something to be taken into consideration. A private special meeting was to be scheduled to discuss this.

No public actions would be taken for the moment.

The Ceibo Class replenishment ships slow down to just barely 5 knots and connect a wire to the D-02- KSG Destroyer, a hose is then dragged across the line and nozzle is then connected to the D-02- KSG Destroyer's fresh water tanks. 50 tons of fresh water is released into the tanks. The D-02 moves and 2knots behind the F-03 & 4 - Dageu Class Frigates line up for their 50 tons of fresh water.

After each has received their water the fresh water hose is retracted back to the Ceibo Class replenishment ship. A new hose is then wired across.

The nozzles of these hoses will slowly be applied to the four diesel gas tanks. Each tank will be given 500 tons of diesel fuel oil each for each ship. They will have to refuel in three days.

After the hoses have been retracted across the wire is attached to a large pulley is capable of transporting 3 tons in boxes or crates. In this case it is 3 tons of food. Unfortunately for the sailors and Marines abroad it is 2 tons of MRE's, but with luck, their Commander may have stashed some spirits and fresh veggies and meat...

The Commander of the Brazilian refueling exercise, Commander Suarez would ask which anonymous sailor contacted the Brazilian ships. He would then say to this anonymous sailor, "This is just a refueling training exercise far from home, where we need to put the sailors and marines under some duress. That is all. But thank you for contacting us."

Freshly supplied and refueled the Southern Teuaila exercise is actually closer to its finish than beginning.

SBN-01 and SBN-02 and the D-02 SK Destroyer. They head straight for Georgetown, Ascension island.

Commander Suarez even raises THE question with his superior.

Yes, he is told. The rest of the Armada, including the San Antonio Class ships will be diverted to a friendly Argentinian port. The Argentinian government has already been appraised of this mission.

Given the lack of indication as to whether these particular ships were to remain in International Waters. It wasn't long until they entered British Territory and the alert going out. Another message was sent but directed amongst the intruding vessels; the SBN-01 and SBN-02 and the D-02 SK Destroyer.

"You are entering proximity of Ascension Island without authorisation. You are hereby ordered to divert out of the area otherwise your intrusion will be considered an act of war against the Her Majesty's Government. I repeat, divert your course out of British Waters."

With this in mind, the complement at the Falkland Islands including the American Contingent was also informed of the new developments with this information passed onto the British Government. The incursion was evidently public, and something taken seriously. The Ministry of Defence soon came aware of the situation and had made the decision to deploy the RFTG to the region, additional aircraft and vessels were to join them unless the Brazilian Force backed away.

The Destroyers have already been on this course of GG>HG>IH. Declared on Post #1.

The Kilo class subs will follow suit. They will travel to within 12km of AscensionIsland. The subs will form a shield, SBN 01 will sail port side of the 02 KSG Destroyer whom will travel 1 km behind and 1km to the starboard side of SBN01.

SBN02 will sail 2km behind SBN02, forming a half diamond with with the 02 KSG Destroyer.

With Destroyer - 02 KSG andSBN 001 and002 they skirt the the 20 km EEZ, or international waters. They will patrol the area. The Commander would speak up, "Sorry, this is abnormal as we are just on a routine patrol."

The Seventh Post (#7) However States "SBN-01 and SBN-02 and the D-02 SK Destroyer... Head straight for Georgetown, Ascension island". An Unconfirmed Route towards British Territory.
Assuming we take the Post Literally, the 2 Destroyers are heading Straight (North), as shown Here into British Territory.

Therefore, the Brazilian Destroyers have Entered British Territorial Water as per the Eighth Post (#8), Making the Ninth Post (#9) VOID.

The incursion into British Waters was highlighted as a significant security risk, the incident reported through the relevant department within the Ministry of Defence who has publicly raised doubt as to the Brazilian Routine Patrol, either it was of the intent of testing the British Response or the sailors were incapable of navigation. This has sparked concern for the British commitment to the South Atlantic Region of Britain's Oversea Territories. In response, the Ministry of Defence has vowed an additional vessel to be dedicated to the South Atlantic Patrol Tasking, allowing a constant presence at the Falkland Islands but also Ascension Island respectively. For the duration of the exercise, the Brazilian Vessels were observed closely to ensure they do not enter British Waters for a second time.

The radar operator would announce to Captain Suarez.

"Sir, we have a major problem. It seems to appear we have entered British waters, sir. I have received word what I be to be the Royal Navy?"

"How in the hell did this happen? Gimme the mic Gaddamint!" he roars.

He takes the headset and puts it on.

"This is Captain Suarez of the D2 SK Destroyer. I have been informed that we have entered your territorial waters and I will tell you right now that it was a mistake that will be immediately rectified. We will divert immediately. Do you copy?"

With that captain Suarez orders his Destroyer and both subs to reroute their ships from IG>II, but instead merely hold at IH and keep up the patrol in international waters. The Destroyer in front, flanked by the two subs, one to the left and the other to the right, one 1km to the southwest and southeast of the main ship. The subs will be about 2km apart.

From IH they will travel to the corner of HH and IH. Once at HH/IH. They will head directly North along the H/I lines until they reach the corner of HJ/IJ, when there they will receive further instructions.

Captain Suarez says to the Radio Operator. Get me the President on the phone. Make sure it is an encrypted line. I will take it in my compartment.

Five minutes later the phone rings.

"Mister President........."

That is all Captain gets out of his mouth.

"What in the hell is going on down there? A incursion into British waters? I should send a helicopter and relieve you of command at this moment."

The President can hear the weeping on the other side of the phone.

"Captain, Suarez. I am also a man of forgiveness and second chances. We all need them in life. Carry out the rest of the mission to the rest of your ability and this will all be forgotten. Is that understood, Captain."

"Yes, your Excellency."

The phone line goes dead.

Back at the helm, he confers with his radio operator and his 1st Lieutenant.

"Are you sure the coordinates have been double-checked?

"Yes, sir," they both say in unison.

"Then let's carry on with our mission."

"Aye-aye, Captain."

"Captain, I have just received word that the President would like our patrol to return to Niteroi Base."

"Fair enough, Lieutenant. Let's return home."

The Destroyer and the two subs travel in the same formation. Captain Suarez goes to his own quarters. He looks at his notes. He strikes a match and lights up a nice cigar he President gave to him when he met him just two months ago. Lighting the cigar up, he knows he just took place in something historic. He was the commander of the fleet that challenged the UK in the South Atlantic and they had no response. Captain Suarez looks up at the ceiling, smoking his cigar, thinking of meeting the President and being able to share the knowledge he has gleaned from the mission and how it will soon further Brazil's global ambitions..
