Turkish Airlines provides itself on providing routes to different destinations around the world, we currently operate to over three hundred destinations around the world but we currently do not operate to Australia and that is why I am writing to you today to gain the approval to begin daily flights to different cities around Australia using our new advanced Airbus A350 and Boeing 787 fleet. This comes with the added benefit that we will be seeking to hire ground crew and flight crews of Australian origin to further increase the capabilities across our network. We also have the backing of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and will be able to offer Australian carriers the chance to fly to Turkey if required.

Dear Mr. Ayci,

Given your airlines excellent reputation and safety record along with being able to cooperate with many government regulatory bodies worldwide I hereby approve the commencement of Turkish Airline services to Australia. In accordance with International Air Services Commission guidelines regarding competition we will allow up to four daily flights from any destination in Turkey to any destination in Australia. For example, two daily from Istanbul to Sydney and two daily from Istanbul to Melbourne or one daily to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. It doesn't matter how you do it, that is completely up to you, but we will allow for four daily flights from Turkey to Australia on Turkish Airlines. Your license to operate flights to and from Australia is hereby approved.

Yours Sincerely,
Shane Carmody
