The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye expresses its deep concern and strong condemnation regarding the recent politically motivated demonstration in Kraków, openly targeting the constitutional order and sovereignty of the Republic of Türkiye.
It is unacceptable that, under the guise of academic liberty and public assembly, hostile elements have been permitted to conduct an orchestrated campaign against the legitimate government of Türkiye. This event, brazenly marked by anti-state rhetoric and subversive symbolism, raises serious questions about the degree of oversight and tacit encouragement afforded by the Polish authorities.
This event, cloaked in the trappings of student activism, was in fact a thinly veiled attempt to destabilize the legitimate, popularly mandated government of Türkiye. The slogans, imagery, and objectives broadcast at this event serve the interests not of peace or dialogue, but of counter-revolution and external manipulation. The apparent coordination with reactionary diaspora elements abroad, particularly in Western capitalist states, raises grave concerns about the extent to which such anti-people activity is being tolerated, or even encouraged, by host governments.
We note with concern the conspicuously well-organized and financed nature of this demonstration. The presence of foreign media, the use of sophisticated propaganda materials, and the deliberate alignment with international liberal forums all point to the involvement of networks that do not operate spontaneously but rather under the guidance and support of ideologically hostile interests.
While the Republic of Türkiye respects the right of all nations to determine their domestic affairs, we cannot remain indifferent when the integrity of our homeland is attacked from foreign soil. We therefore call upon the Government of Poland to investigate thoroughly whether foreign institutions, foundations, or other agents had any involvement, direct or indirect, in facilitating this act of subversion.
Türkiye has long valued its diplomatic and economic relations with the Kingdom of Poland, and it is our firm expectation that the Polish Government will take immediate steps to prevent its territory from being used as a platform for anti-Turkish propaganda and destabilizing agendas.
Türkiye and Poland have historically maintained constructive relations. We remind our counterparts in Warsaw that the principles of mutual respect and non-interference must remain the foundation of our bilateral ties. No state committed to peace and sovereignty should permit its territory to become a staging ground for imperialist meddling or anti-socialist agitation.
We await formal assurances from the Polish side that such provocations will not be repeated. The Turkish people, united under the banner of socialism and guided by the leadership of the Party, will not be intimidated by external attempts to sow discord or undermine our revolutionary path.
The National Security Council of the Republic of Türkiye has taken the sovereign decision to terminate all diplomatic relations with the Socialist Republic of Thailand and close the Thai Diplomatic Mission in Türkiye, effective within 48 hours of formal notification.
This action comes in response to the Thai Government’s hostile and politically charged statement announcing the severance of ties with Türkiye, the imposition of unilateral sanctions, and its declared policy of offering unconditional asylum to individuals fleeing legitimate judicial proceedings in Türkiye. Many of whom face prosecution for crimes against the constitutional order of the Republic.
As per established international norms, all Thai diplomatic personnel, including the Head of Mission and their families, have been declared persona non grata and are expected to depart Turkish territory within the stipulated 48-hour timeframe. Her Excellency, the Ambassador of Thailand, has been ordered to vacate the country within 24 hours, at which point her diplomatic immunities and privileges will lapse. In light of the current closure of Türkiye’s international borders and airports, the Government has authorized Thailand to arrange special chartered flights for the repatriation of its personnel, subject to coordination with Turkish authorities.
In addition, Turkish law enforcement and national security agencies have identified 1,350 Thai nationals engaged in activities contrary to the security and stability of the Turkish state. These individuals are now subject to deportation under Turkish national security statutes.
As a matter of reciprocal diplomatic principle, the Republic of Türkiye hereby announces the indefinite suspension of all bilateral agreements, protocols, and memoranda of understanding previously in force between Türkiye and Thailand. These include treaties on trade, security cooperation, cultural exchange, and diplomatic engagements.
Furthermore, the Republic of Türkiye formally demands the immediate deportation and return of its Ambassador to Thailand and 323 Turkish nationals currently residing in Thailand who have been implicated in acts of subversion and serious crimes under Turkish law. The Socialist Republic of Thailand is expected to comply with its obligations under international legal instruments and refrain from harboring fugitives under the guise of political asylum.
The Republic of Türkiye reaffirms its commitment to the principles of international diplomacy, non-interference, and the defense of constitutional order. These measures, while regrettable, are fully justified under international law and undertaken with the objective of safeguarding national sovereignty and public security.
