Thailand Passes Controversial Secularization and Religious Demystification Act in Unanimous Vote
Thailand's Parliament has passed the Secularization and Religious Demystification Act in a landmark vote that garnered unanimous support from all legislative members and community assemblies. The sweeping legislation solidifies Thailand's transition into a fully secular state, eliminating preferential treatment for religious institutions and instituting broad reforms that affect everything from taxation to public education. This move is seen as a critical step in the nation's ongoing cultural transformation, aligning with its socialist principles and the long-term vision of creating a stateless, classless society under communism. @BangkokPost Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo Andrej Towpik While the Convention of Constantinople, 1888 prohibits the closure of the Suez Canal, we have seen several occasions when the Canal was closed for foreign nations. During the World Wars, the Canal was closed to the Central Powers and the Axis powers. Tertiary, during the Six Day War when Egypt closed the Canal to Israel. It is important to note that Egypt retains the ability to close the Canal to nations that pose a danger to national defense. It would is not far fetched to believe after the assassination of the Egyptian delegation in Thailand they would feel Thailand is a threat to national security. @AmbAndrejTowpik Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo IA Chief Zero Jabour Egypt has submitted its statements on the Thai request for advisory. We believe here in the International Affairs department that Egypt has the express right to control who traverses the Suez Canal as part of its internal waters. Egypt does not intend to hinder the passage of any ships that do not present a direct threat to our national sovereignty. We believe it is time for the Convention of Constantinople, 1888, to be formally dissolved by the ICJ. @InternationalAffairs.EG Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo Thaksin Shinawatra I extend my sincere and enthusiastic congratulations to the newly-elected General Secretary of the People's Front, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit from the Progressive Party. I have complete trust that Thanathorn will lead our nation toward a classless future. Most importantly, Thanathorn has the confidence of the People's Front to guide our electoral alliance to a victory in the 2007 General Election. @ThaksinLive Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit It is such a venerable honor that millions of the People's Front members have elected me to lead our nation's collective efforts of our socialist movement toward a stateless, classless, and moneyless society. I will strive to work upon the achievement of former General Secretary Thaksin Shinawatra while pushing our revolution further to ensure that participatory democracy and environmental sustainability are prevalent in all aspects of our lives. @Thanathorn_PP Twitter Logo

France maintains that under international law the Suez Canal is considered neutral territory and must grant passage to vessels from any nation, and that every nation traversing the Suez Canal must respect its neutrality and refrain from engaging in any aggressive action while within the Canal. @MEAE_EN Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo Ministère de l'Europe et des Affaires étrangères While the Empire of France has long stated its non-recognition of the Egyptian Interdiction Zone in its implementation of its rights under international law, we have been compelled to today seek formal legal precedent on the validity of this policy. As such, we have requested the ICJ to issue a binding ruling on five questions concerning the policy. @MEAE_EN Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo MFA Thailand The Republic of Thailand fully stands beside our ally in the Empire of France in its pursue of just and equitable ruling on the imperialistic Egyptian Interdiction Zone (EIZ). The Republic Government remains grounded in our belief that unilateralism, disregard for international laws, and imperialist ambition of a nation, as demonstrated by Egypt, are incompatible with a world we wish to collectively build. @MFAThailand Twitter Logo

This magnitude of the unprecedented decision means that traditional currency, along with money, has ceased to exist in Thailand, making a significant step toward the goal of communism. @BangkokPost Twitter Logo
