Julia Gillard, Prime Minister of Australia As President Sinclair has announced he will not seek a second term, I want to take this opportunity to convey the regards of myself, my government and all Australians to President Sinclair for his tremendous work during his term as President. The Australia-United States alliance has continued to grow and strengthen under his leadership. President Sinclair is a true friend of Australia and we wish him all the best in his upcoming retirement. An invitation for an official state visit was relayed to President Sinclair during his term and we will continue to honour this invitation to his successor, regardless of affiliation. @JuliaGillardMP
