Twitter Logo The Times of Israel Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid have drawn controversy after joining an Israel Border Police patrol near Jerusalem’s Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif area as part of a new television production.

Bennett, wearing a kippah, a white rolled-sleeve shirt and Border Police vest, and Lapid, dressed in black, were filmed receiving a briefing from a Border Police commander before walking through the sensitive area alongside officers.

The appearance has already sparked debate because of the site’s profound religious and political sensitivity. The Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif is sacred to Jews and Muslims and remains one of the most contested locations in Jerusalem. @thetimesofisrael Twitter Logo

Twitter Logo RTErdogan The images from Al-Aqsa are a disgrace to conscience and to history. Bennett and Lapid have turned a place of worship into a stage for their own arrogance. Turkiye cannot call this "diplomacy." The government must act NOW and cut all ties with this administration. Silence is complicity.
