From villages with small celebrations to the large scale displays put on by Edinburgh and London, it was an opportunity to look back at the year just gone and embrace traditions and thoughts for the year to come. Thousands looking up at Big Ben, waiting for the iconic ringing as it led the celebration. It got closer and closer to midnight and suddenly the music stopped. A deep voice echoed around the crowds from hidden speakers, thousands shouting the same number as the countdown begun... 10 --- 9 --- 8 --- 7 --- 6 --- 5 --- 4 --- 3 --- 2 --- 1 - thousands begun cheering in London alone as the chimes of Big Ben rung out, accompanied by millions cheering across the country. London's iconic New Year’s Eve fireworks lit up the Thames, reflecting from the surface of the water with red, white and blue colours piercing the clouds as the display begun. Thousands had been spent on fireworks with voices talking about certain themes that have occurred throughout the year...
Special mention was given to the people of New Caledonia, praising their bravery and expressing the countries thoughts for those on the island,

Thanking the selflessness of Britain's armed forces and emergency services,
Cheering on the communities within the UK for their support of democracy and peace,
The ceremony came to a close after 18 minutes with the traditional crowds beginning to sing. A singlular voice, followed by two, three, ten, twenty, fifth. It didn't stop, it echoed down the Thames and across other parts of the country as they swayed in motion to Auld Lang Syne...
