OFFICE OF THE COMMANDER OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE |
ENCRYPTED MESSAGE |
TO: Klas Friberg, Director General of The Swedish National Security Office ( Connor )
FROM: Rear Admiral Brent Goodman, Commander of The Office of Naval Intelligence
Good afternoon,
Very Respectfully,
Brent Goodman
Rear Admiral USN, Commander of The Office of Naval Intelligence
Good afternoon,
I am contacting you under direct orders from the Secretary of The Navy as a back channel of communications. The following information is highly classified - I have been authorized to share it with you so that you can decide who the few individuals are that need to know.
The United States Navy is planning a secret exercise utilizing American special operations forces and a nuclear submarine. The Navy would like to send a submarine from the United States and to the Baltic Sea for the purpose of sending operators to the island of Gotland and simulate an infiltration of a Swedish military facility. This infiltration would involve some kind of simulated sabotage, followed by an exfiltration of American forces from the island. In order for this operation to be realistic, but not risk an actual conflict, we would arm our operators with rifles loaded with blanks. We would require that the personnel at the facility we intend to target also have their weapons and ammunition changed out for blanks without any explanation. While your forces would know that something was amiss, we would still maintain some element of surprise.
This could be a productive opportunity for both of our countries to test our forces. If the Swedish Royal Navy wishes to participate, please contact me directly - or have a back-channel representative from the Royal Navy contact me directly, and we can move forward. I would also be happy to answer any questions that you may have, though some matters involving American technology and operational plans must still remain classified and undisclosed.
