COMMANDER UNITED STATES SECOND FLEET |
ENCRYPTED MESSAGE |
TO: Vice Admiral. Gökçen Fırat, Commander of Southern Fleet of The Republic of Türkiye ( Jay )
FROM: Vice Admiral Daryl Fontenot, Commander United States Second Fleet
Vice Admiral Fırat,
Two United States Navy destroyers - the USS Larry Craig and the USS Dirk Kempthorne - are currently operating in the Mediterranean Sea. Both vessels are in need of resupply and refueling. I am requesting to you, on their behalf, that they be permitted to refuel and resupply at Aksaz Naval Base, which is most convenient for them, or another Turkish Navy base if Aksaz is not deemed suitable by you. This is not an emergency and the destroyers can replenish themselves at other friendly ports of this is not something that you an accommodate at this time. If you need any further clarification, I am happy to answer any questions that you have. Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing back from you as soon as possible.
Very Respectfully,
Vice Admiral Daryl Fontenot
Commander United States Second Fleet
