Prime Minister,
I have been made aware of developing events in the Republic of Ireland. It appears that a coup de etat is ongoing, and that the Taoiseach has either been kidnapped or killed. I met with the Taoiseach only a day ago where he stayed in the White House. I imagine that Great Britain is going to have some kind of response, seeing as the perpetrators in Ireland may be connected to the Irish Republican Army. Ireland, as being part of the British Isles, is a place I would consider uniquely under the jurisdiction of a British response in this kind of a situation, if Her Majesty's government deems it fit. Regardless, I express the full support of the United States government and the American people. Please let me know if there is anything that the United States can do to help - it is of course my desire that a non-violent solution can be found.
