Prime Minister-Designate,

I ran on platform of focusing on the domestic problems of the United States, and I was given a mandate by the American People. However, I have always emphasized the importance of the relationship between the United States and our closest allies, including Sweden. I trust that your tenure as Prime Minister will be one of efficiency, honesty, and grit. I respect the relationship between the United States and Sweden as one of mutual respect and understanding. There have been numerous governments which have directly questioned Sweden's relationship with the United States, and I have gone to bat for your government and your country every time. I trust that you will hold to Sweden's commitment in allowing the United States to have a presence in Antarctica, especially for scientific research regarding the global climate change.

Prime Minister-Designate Holmgren, I offer you the strongest congratulations on your election to the office of Prime Minister of Sweden. I firmly hope that the United States and Sweden will have a rock-solid relationship going forward, and that you have the same wishes.​

Dear President Benjamin V. Sinclair,

Allow me to express my sincere gratitude for your gracious letter and for the support you have consistently shown Sweden and our government. Your words reflect the strong foundation of trust and cooperation that has long characterised the relationship between our nations. I deeply value the recognition of Sweden's efforts to maintain efficiency, honesty and resilience in governance and I am committed to upholding these principles throughout my time in office.

Sweden naturally shares your views that our nations relationship is built upon mutual respect and understanding. We recognise the importance of collaboration on issues of global significance, including scientific research in Antarctica. Whilst Sweden maintains its sovereign responsibilities over our territories, we welcome and will continue to facilitate the presence of international partners, including the United States, for peaceful and constructure purposes, particularly in areas such as climate science and environmental research. To ensure that our collaboration is both effective and mutually beneficial, I propose that the relevant departments without our governments, particularly our Department of Antarctic Affairs, along with scientific and logistical agencies engage in structured dialogue to establish the practical arrangements and operational details for continued presence and research activities in Antrarctica.

I am confident that through these consultations we can develop a framework that respects our sovereign responsibilities while fostering productive scientific cooperation and long-term strategic partnership in the region.
