CONTEXT​

The Kingdom of Canada was brazenly attacked by a faceless coward who attempted to bring down the Canadian government in a way not dissimilar to the attack on the United States in 1997. The Canadian government has come to the conclusion that the French Empire has directly participated in supplying arms to Canadian rebels in order to encourage an attack on the Kingdom of Canada. The United States has not been able to directly cooperate this information yet, but is largely taking the Canadian government at its word. As of now, the official position of the United States government is that this is a conflict between Canada and France. More specifically, with policy set forth by President Gore, the United States will directly intervene if any foreign government outside of the United Kingdom sends military assets to the New World to try to influence the outcome of this conflict. The Federal Government considers the entire Western Hemisphere to be under the direct protection and influence of the United States, and no other outside power.

Through lawful orders from the President, the NMCC at the Pentagon ordered that Rear Admiral Nelson direct most of the former Task Force 107 to return to the Western Hemisphere. The mission of Carrier Stroke Group One and the other units will be to ensure that foreign powers do not try to take advantage of the situation and interfere either on behalf of Canada or France. The following takes place after post No. 21 in Operation Blue Paladin:

The fleet sailed out of the Strait of Gibraltar with no incident. The USS Enterprise would briefly break radio silence and transmit on the appropriate and secure frequency to the Polish frigate.
"Polish warship, this is the USS Enterprise... Fair winds and following seas. Over and out."

A secure message from the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon was sent to Rear Admiral Nelson which stated that foreign intelligence has reason to believe that Thailand may try to directly interfere in the Canadian-French conflict in the New World. Rear Admiral Nelson was ordered to record any and all Thai ship movements or locations and to securely report them back to the Pentagon. He was also ordered to consider any Thai vessels that were operating above -6 degrees of Latitude and within 650 miles of the coast of South America or the Carribean islands as potentially hostile.

The fleet arrived to the aforementioned waypoint of (13.674189, -54.379111). This location would put the carrier approximately 550 miles off the coast of Guiana. New orders from the NMCC ordered all of Battle Group Gold, except for the USS Wasp, to return to their home port at Naval Support Activity Hampton Roads. Battle Group Gold, minus the USS Wasp immediately set sail in the most direction route to that Naval Facility (in this route, the vessels would not enter the territorial waters of any country other than the United Kingdom and would continue to use all passive and active means of sonar and radar to search for threats above and below the sea).

Meanwhile, Carrier Strike Group One and SUBRON 6 were ordered to advance to the waypoint of (6.497678, -52.199986) which was approximately 100 miles off the coast of Guiana. The mission of the deployed ships would be two-fold:
1. To intercept foreign military vessels attempting to sail to the Carribean or intercede in the current conflict;
2. To monitor Canadian operations in Guiana.

The remaining vessels, which were not going back to port, would take the following formation here. Throughout this time, a Hawkeye would continue to fly over the fleet as previously mentioned and shown in the map.​

A Flash-Action message from the National Military Command Center at the Pentagon informed the commanders of Operation Gold Paladin that the National Command Authority had changed the DEFCON level from 4 to 5. Half an hour later, a priority message was sent to inform the commanders of the operation that they were being stood down and that they were to return back to port. All sailors and Marines were to be given shore leave. The fleet would, of course, maintain its level of readiness as it returned back to port. All of the aircraft and equipment that were loaded on before would be unloaded and returned to their respective bases. The operation was now, for all intents and purposes, complete as there was no longer a credible threat against Canada or North America.
