ENCRYPTED PHONE CALL​

President Gore's secretary used a secure line to call the King's office in Poland. She informed the member of the King's staff that President Gore was waiting on the line to speak to him and that it was a matter of grave international importance. If the Polish agreed to connect the President to the King, the call would be transferred to Gore's secure line in the Oval Office.

At the mention that President Al Gore of the United States of America was looking to speak to the King of Poland on matters of grave international importance, the call was immediately transferred via internal secured and encrypted lines to the especially encrypted phone that sat perched on the English Oak desk, symbolic as it was the national tree of Poland. After a brief message from the secretary, King Stanislaus Grabowski would answer the encrypted phone call. He wore a newer but equally plain suit during this particular day in the Royal Offices. His beard and hair were equally plain but well kept to show the air of confidence that a king must have at all times.

"Good day, President Gore. I'll skip the usual pleasantries as my aide said this is a matter of grave international importance. How can the Kingdom of Poland assist you?"

"Your Majesty, thank you for answering so quickly. I am not sure if you have heard, but Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Canada is currently under attack. From what I have been told, the Canadian Prime Minister may be dead and the whereabouts of the King are unknown. At this time the Canadian Army is being deployed into Ottawa. Right now we have no idea who is calling the shots in Canada, or if a coup d'etat is underway. I greatly appreciate your navy's dedication in the Pacific, but I have to order the USS Nimitz and the other ships associated with her back to the West Coast.

"The armed forces have to be prepared for any eventuality, including a direct military intervention in Canada. If the Canadian government is able to come out of this, and without our direct intervention, then I want to at least make sure other nations do not interfere in North American affairs. However, if your fleet is up to it, I can invite them to join the Nimitz in her redeployment to the West Coast. The mission of the fleet will be to deter outside intervention and, if necessary, provide air support to American ground forces. Is this something that you would be willing to have your navy participate in?" Gore asked.

"Anytime, Mister President. And yes, I was made aware of the situation on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. I was just about to head to my Council of Ministers meeting to formulate a public Polish response to the situation. The fear that the Canadian Prime Minister may be dead and the disappearance of the King of Canada is troubling news to hear indeed."

King Stanislaus would send an encrypted message to his aide via his computer and a moment later an audible ding would be heard.

"Yes, Mister President. I do see we have a Polish naval task force attached to an American carrier strike group outside of Gaum. And I understand your worry about intervention into North American affairs with the rising of unwarranted interventions but an unnamed nation. I will have the MND issue a secured message to the task force to assist your Carrier strike group with whatever they need. While we do not operate jet aircraft off of our Amphibious Assault Ships at this time, they are capable of assisting the United States with the refueling and supply of American forces within the region. I also see here that we have squadron of special operations soldiers aboard the OKP Huragon. Please utilize whatever resources you need to insure the security of the North American region and to help secure the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Canada."

"Thank you, Your Majesty. I appreciate you, your government, and your armed forces' willingness to work with us during these very uncertain times. Things had so quiet around the world, but it seems that when it rains, it pours... I will be ordering the fleet to redirect momentarily. Naval Station Everett may be used to refuel, though the current plan will be for us to send in our replenishment ships one at a time and use them to refuel our fleet as well as the Polish vessels in our task force. The admirals will have to work out the finer details... Thank you again for taking my call. Never hesitate to reach out," the President said. If there was nothing else to add, President Gore would say goodbye and end the secure call.

"Not at all, mister President. Not at all. The naval leaders will indeed have to work out the finer details amongst themselves. With these trying times, Mister President, I must urge you to be safe as well. With your near assassination, I would hate to have to assist someone else to stabilize the American nation if something similar were to happen. God speed, Mister President, and may he have mercy on our enemies for we have none." Stanislaus would hang up the phone after the pleasantries were done before picking the phone up and dialing the direct line to the Minister of National Defense.

With the arrival of the American ships off the coast of Italy to enforce the national sovereignty of Italy during the trials and tribulations within the Vatican, the Polish Ministry of National Defense would send an encrypted message to the American Department of Defense offering assistance.

Secretary Glass, I hope this missive finds you well during these trying times. I am writing you to offer support of the Polish frigate and the team of special forces operators currently operating within the Mediterranean on a training exercise. The team of JW Formoza are operating off of the OKP Gwiezdny, a Celestial-class Frigate, and are currently undergoing replenishment operations within the Port of Said alongside two reconnaissance ships. If you would like Poland's assistance in maintaining the security of the region, please do not hesitate to reach out to us here at the Polish Ministry of National Defense.
