[US]: Phone call to Canada

[John]

David Jacobson, the United States Ambassador to Canada would pick up the phone, calling the Prime Minister of Canada, James Trudelle.

[Ellie]

James Trudelle sips coffee at his desk as the negatives of being awake for twenty-four hours hits him. The phone finally rings and he quickly answers, the loud communications outside of his office were muffled but could still be heard. "Good morning, Mr. Jacobson" addressed the Prime Minister, "I suppose that I can determine this call to be due to the ongoing event in Toronto. I can assure you that everything is under control and you have nothing to fear, the city has been placed into martial law and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have been deployed to quench this revolt."

 

[John]

"Yes that is why I am ringing, of course I'm sure you have a lot more things on your plate to deal with rather than me. But I must keep my government informed, you see? I have just received word from the Consul General in Toronto that the violence is growing worse and that the "Nationalists" I believe? Are attacking government buildings. We are quite worried that official buildings such as embassies and consulates are no longer safe"

 

[Ellie]

"I would advise you to contact your consulates within Toronto to remain calm and within the embassies. I do not believe that the Nationalists would result to attacking foreign countries' embassies. As of this moment, the only government buildings under attack our those of Canada itself. The United States of America's embassies and those of foreign countries are safe. While I cannot foresee the future, I can assure you that no American will be hurt."

 

[John]

"I have just been informed that members of your armed forces have aided the nationalists in taking over key cities. I have also just received word that the United States supports the democratically elected government of Canada and we will do all we can to support you."

 

[Ellie]

"It is quite unfortunate that our trained military would fall so low as to join them. I do not want armed foreign powers involved in this Nationalist uprising. All I can ask from the United States is to place armed forces on the borders near Vancouver and along the Canadian borders near Detroit and Buffalo. Perhaps scare tactics will make the Nationalists think twice before continuing their revolt."

 

[John]

"I thought you should be the first to know that we have deployed a large force to border that we have along the Niagra Falls, and we will also be keeping the border open for any refugees that wish to seek safety in the United States. Also, I wanted to know your opinion on our thoughts on how we get our diplomatic staff out of Toronto. With the situation growing more violent and serious we believe that they cannot just walk out of there and we were thinking that an airlift is one of the safest possibilities. With that in mind, we do not want to violate your airspace with prior permission"

 

[Ellie]

"Thank you, Mr. Jacobson. You have Canada's permission to airlift your consulates out of Toronto, hopefully our military will distract most of the Nationalists in the city. If the airlift is for some reason attacked by the Nationalists, simply pull out, the Canadian government cannot afford to give more ammunition to the Nationalists."

 

[John]

"We currently have special forces enroute to Quebec and Toronto to extract our embassy staff, I want to make you aware that any forces firing on our aircraft will be subject to return fire"

 

[Ellie]

"I understand. Let us pray that God has allowed the Nationalists to have some common sense. Be sure to tell your special forces to avoid Montreal air space, I can't promise you that the communist and Islamist forces will hold fire."

 

[Dragon]

Islamist communications would pick up on the phone call writing down all that was said and relaying it back to command.

 

[John]

"Our helicopters are leaving Canada now, thankfully they haven't been engaged so far. But I would like to bring up something that concerns us, we believe this conflict will attract foreign interest and for countries to get themselves involved. So, with your permission, we would like to enforce an exclusion zone around Canadian airspace and waters, to prevent foreign forces from gaining a foothold in Canada. Now, this isnt to say we will be getting involved in your internal conflict, but we can risk possible enemy combatants from foreign continents in North America."

 

[Ellie]

"I am happy to hear of your success in retrieving your people. An exclusion zone would be permitted along Nationalist held waters such as British Columbia and Quebec, including airspace. This exclusion zone will be allowed to stay until the end of the conflict..."

The door of the Prime Minister's office could be heard opening as the Minister of Defense enters the room. The Prime Minister listens to what the man has to say as only his muffled voice could be heard.

The Prime Minister shortly returns to the call as he takes a deep breath. "I was just informed that the Nationalists could be seen advancing onto Ottawa not too far away. My Minister of Defense has given us roughly half an hour before the Nationalists reach the outskirts of the city. I have already taken precautions to evacuate the citizens out of the capital city but the Nationalists have a large support in southern Canada, we won't be able to hold them forever."

The Prime Minister could be heard giving his Minister of Defense the go ahead for their next plan.

"If the Nationalists take Ottawa, I will have no other choice but to surrender the country to them. Something must be done, Mr. Jacobson, and I'm afraid that the Liberal government no longer has the capabilities to stop their advance, some foreign power has to get involved to prevent a Nationalist foothold in North America. Now, I must evacuate to a safe location. Goodbye, Mr. Jacobson."

 

[John]

"Before you hang up! We are willing to deploy into nationalist held areas and help you combat them, if that is your request."

 

[Ellie]

"Liberation of Canada from Nationalist forces is required for the safety of the Americas, Mr. Jacobson. Toronto and Quebec City would be in our upmost interest. Montreal is also under heavy terrorist control. I request the United States and its allies to help us quench these uprisings and bring Canada back to stability through military means."
