[US]: Phone call to France

The Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence, Michael G. Vickers, would pick up the phone and call his counterpart in the Republic of France. The line would be encrypted and he'd be sat in his private office, holding the phone to his face, he'd lean back on his chair and sip away at his coffee, waiting for the French to pick up.

The Minister of Defence, Florence Parly, would answer the phone on an encrypted line.

"Hello, Minister Parly speaking. How may I be of assistance?"

"Ah Minister Parly. What a pleasure it is to hear your voice..." There would be a slight pause, before the U-SDI continued. "I wish I was calling you on better terms, however an issue seems to have risen. I received word yesterday that it is possible that the Italians may be undertaking an operation that will see the armament and support of the 'National Liberation Front of Corsica'. I wasn't sure if you were aware of this issue and wanted to bring you into the loop"

[Ellie]

The Minister would pause. "...it seems that the Italians can never mind their own business. We were not aware of this, I'm afraid to say. We'll send our navy to blockade the island and send troops on Corsica to prevent any uprising and armament of the terrorist organization by the Italians or any foreign power. Thank you for bringing us into the loop Mr. Vickers, is there anything else you would like to discuss?"

"That was it, however, I need to inform you that we will be deploying vessels to the Mediterranean to support Dutch vessels. So, if you need us to help whilst we are in the area, we are more than willing to provide support"[/I]

[Ellie]

"That's good to hear," the Minister would state, "we'll keep communication between our navies and inform them if anything comes up. Thank you again, Mr. Vickers."

"My Pleasure." The phone line would go dead at this point. The Under Secretary hanging up the phone. Before leaning back on his chair and continuing sip at his coffee.
