Greetings,

With the establishment of our new and permanent government I wish to take this time to contact you about establishing a relationship between Turkey and Vietnam. I would like to discuss matters such as trade, tourism, and a possible non aggression pact. All of this on top of the building issue of the rather cold winter in Europe at the moment. If possible I would like to have a phone conversion at your earliest convenience, but I will explain our concerns and thoughts with the current winter situation. Based on data that has filtered to us the current extent of the polar ice is the largest it has been in many years. We are not sure what is going on but the Ministry of Public Security believes that it will cause an influx of migrants from Europe to Asia. Turkey for many is the door to Asia and thus we believe very soon you will receive an influx of people trying to escape the cold. I would like to extend an offer of help to manage this should it come.

Best wishes

Dear Sir,

I would first like to extend my warmest personal greetings to you, and the people of Vietnam. I am more than happy to begin diplomatic relations between Turkey and your nation immediately. As for the request regarding a telephone call, I can actually do better by stating that I can catch the next commercial flight to Vietnam as soon as you believe it expedient for a face to face discussion. Indeed, if you were to accept my suggestion, I do believe I and The Grand Vizier will be able to have the individual chosen by us to be our ambassador within your republic accompany me, so that he can be personally introduced to yourself and The President.

Meanwhile, I can understand your fears regarding the recent developments with the weather in Northern Europe. However, I can assure you that the immigration controls currently in place within Turkey's borders are as stringent and thorough as Australia's. As such, it is doubtful that there will be an influx of refugees entering Turkey, unless we specifically allow it. Nevertheless, I must say that it is deeply flattering and kind of you to offer Turkey assistance, and I am sure that I and the rest of the government will be sure to remember the gesture.

Regardless, I await your reply, and hope that my suggestion of meeting you in person will be accepted, instead of the rather impersonal nature a phone call possesses.

Looking forward to meeting you,
Kanat Ozbek, Vizier For Foreign Affairs

Greetings,

Very good! If possible would a face to face meeting on the 31st work for you? I would suggest coming on the day of our military parade, but that would be short notice as it is today.

Even with such tight controls you may end up wit a surplus of people pooling at the border trying to get in. If this becomes an issue to where there is a large amount of people trying to get in despite being turned away we can take them off your hands. But it is good to hear that you will not allow for a caravan to enter into Asia as previously mentioned

Best wishes

Dear Sir,

The 31st is more than satisfactory. As for visiting today, I would, however I'm afraid my government needs a little time to select an appropriate location to set up our embassy in Hanoi. I am certain that we shall have made a decision by then. We will then be able to present it and our chosen ambassador to you and The President for approval.

In the meantime would you be interested in the establishment of a trade route between our two countries? For exports Vietnam has Electrical machinery, Footwear, Computers, Textiles, and Furniture at this time. I would like to hear back from you on what you would be able to provide in return.

Best wishes

Dear Sir,

I do believe that the pair of us could establish a number of trade chains. The vast majority of Turkey's exports are raw/primary sector resources, such as food, minerals, oil, steel and raw textile materials. Such a list matches up with much of your finished products. Turkish oil can be processed into synthetic rubber for Vietnamese shoe soles. Turkish silk, wool and cotton can crafted in high quality Vietnamese clothes, and the upholstery of chairs and sofas.

Some of Turkey's mineral deposits provide metals necessary for computer and electronic circuitry, such as gold, chromium, barite (Barium), borate (Boron). Our steel can also be used for computer cases and machinery. I dare say that the pair of us could be a match made in heaven for economic growth. As such, I do believe we could make a number of supply chains for the following.

Raw Textile Resources > Textiles & Furniture
Steel & Minerals > Electrical Machinery & Computers
Oil > Footwear

The finished Vietnamese products can then be exported across the globe, including to Turkey. The fruits of the labour of Turkish farmers, ranchers and miners could be crafted into products made by Vietnamese craftsmen and women, to be sold to the citizens of the globe. Whether such an extensive endeavour is what you envisioned is up to you to decide, but it is something Turkey is more than happy to turn into reality.

I very much like the way you put such a trade relationship between our nations, and indeed it would be mutually beneficial for our nations to trade these goods. I believe such an arrangement would work wonderfully and would like to go forward with it. But on what interval should shipments be made? To what ports? Both important questions. As we will want to keep the flow of exports and imports smooth as possible.

Dear Sir,

Since Turkey will be providing your industry with the resources necessary for producing finished goods, I believe you will be in a better position to judge how much you need and how frequently to maintain efficiency and maximum volume of production. As for the aforementioned finished goods, we do not mind how frequently you ship them to Turkish ports, it's certain that they will find a customer here. Meanwhile, after analysis of our current port facilities; we believe the port of Mersin, on the south-eastern coast of Turkey, will be perfect for both import and export duties. It is outfitted with berths that have direct rail connections, meaning that ships can unload their cargo onto trains for immediate shipping, and vice versa for shipping resources to Vietnam via the Suez Canal.

As for which port in Vietnam would be suitable for your needs, that is something, I am sure, you will be able to establish via analysis of where bulk raw resources can be unloaded and transferred to the relevant industries as swiftly as possible.

I apologize as I should of made it clear when I last sent a message, those questions were in regards to our shipments to you. We can send on a monthly basis to the Port of Mersin. You can send your goods to us on a monthly Basis to the port of Saigon.

Dear Sir,

That arrangement is perfect for us. The only question now is when should these shipments commence?

Dear Sir,

That is something we agree to wholeheartedly. At this very moment, His Majesty's Merchant Ships, Bol and Cömertlik, are being loaded with their cargo in preparation for setting sail to Saigon Port. I hope that this will be the beginning of a prosperous partnership that will last for a very long time!
