Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building - Moscow

Sulambek Islamov, Visangiri Khasanov, Mikail Abdurakhmanov, Kerimsolta Melikov, Abdul-Khalim Isaev, Solta Zakayev, Osman Ryzaev, Zaurbek Dimayev, Nurdi Sheripov, Zelim Rushisvili, Bisultan Vedzizhe, and forty-nine other individuals rode in five UAZ-2206, one Moskvitch-2141, and one UAZ-3303. Nestled in their seats they followed the traffic laws perfectly and without fail. Each vehicle was a few cars apart as if to show they were not in the same group. But, they were all heading in the same direction. They could see it just up ahead, standing arrogantly and proudly there in their sights. They were crossing north over the busy Bolshoy Ustyinskiy Bridge now and took a right onto the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment once they were over. Then they split up with one group consisting of three UAZ-2206 and the UAZ-3303 taking a left onto Podgorskaya Naberezhnaya almost immediately as the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building loomed over them. The rest of the vehicles continued on before they cut diagonally through the intersection disrupting traffic and going for the west side road gate. The other group going for the north side gate at the same time. Both would smash through the simply constructed boom gate and rush into the parking lot. They had been planning this for some time, gathering resources for the last twelve years. Twelve years the Russians had ignored them, twelve years the Russians arrogantly asserted their will over their homeland. Today they would exact a toll greater than anything ever planned before. For they had been able to become ready all while their target grew softer and softer. Everyone put on ski masks and balaclavas zipping up their Soviet-era military jackets covering the fact that they wore body armor. From next to their seats they grabbed AKM assault rifles and then exited their vehicles. Immediately screams could be heard by those already in the parking lot only to be silenced by the deafening roar of the automatic gunfire. They were gunned down right there in the parking lot as four of the group grabbed RPG-7 rocket launchers and another four grabbed four PG-7VL warheads. One even reaching into the backseat of the Moskvitch-2141 and pulling out an Igla-1 with missile already secured in the tube. From the back of the pickup, a tarp was removed showing a DShK heavy machine gun with a folded tripod. One person grabbed the gun itself while another grabbed the bipod with a third grabbing the ammo. Finally, two people took from the back what appeared to be a series of four pressure plates, a bundle of wires, and two backpacks full of explosive bricks. All of them, of course, had cheap two-way radios on them. With everything in hand, they quickly set about spreading into and around the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building.

One group of ten with two RPG-7s and two RPG ammo carriers went east towards the Pochta Rossii and sprayed AKM fire into cars and pedestrians who had not left the area. One car veered off into the river while others tried to accelerate out of the war crashing into one another. Making them easier pickings as the streets became increasingly clogged. Another group of ten did the same heading south towards Sberbank causing the same amount of damage as people fled the scene. Sirens could be heard and confusion was at an all-time high as the remaining group split into three. Twenty began to filter in through the front entrance shooting down the under-equipped security guards and shooting open any locked doors that stood in their way. Meanwhile, the other twenty split off with ten going into the east archway and the other ten going into the south archway. Ten would then enter through the back while the remaining ten set up a trap to catch anyone trying to escape into this back area of the building. They also placed the one with the Igla here as they covered all four arch ways into the back. The other two groups that had taken to the streets would finally arrive and barge their way into Sberbank and Pochta Rossii. Shooting security and all who resisted or tried to run away as now things took a different turn. They ordered people to freeze right where they stood and not to move! People that complied were being taken a hostage at gunpoint as they moved through the large building. As they filtered into the building proper they would rush up to the third floor with the DShK heavy machine gun and barge into an apartment overlooking the Bolshoy Ustyinskiy Bridge while two RPG teams set up to cover the eastern crossing and another two set up on the third floor to cover the southern approach. Just in time, it would seem as first respondents began to arrive with four Moscow Police VAZ-2110 cars with sirens blazing raced across the bridge. One Police car taking the eastern bridge and two police cars approaching from the south. The sound of ambulances and fire trucks could be heard shortly behind though was mixed with the sudden burst of fire from the heavy machine gun! It riddled the lead car on the main bridge with fifty cal! The vehicle veered off and into the river as the other two stopped and made an immediate u-turn as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, an RPG rocket whizzed out towards the police cars approaching from the other ends. One slamming into one of the two from the south and another exploding behind the one from the east. Both veered off ducking away out of sight of the teams covering the streets and bridges. The reason they had set up those defenses was to buy time for them to gain their leverage! The hostage-takers were gathering up the people from the apartment blocks, offices, and other facilities in the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building and putting them into the common room and entryway. Those that had tried to run through the back entrance found themselves gunned down the moment they came out. The sheer number of people running away, however, meant some were able to escape and run off of course. In total, the hostage-takers had managed to take around 423 hostages and concentrate them into two places. At this point, they began to wire up the pressure plates and rig explosives to them attaching the explosive bricks to the ceiling and walls. Then activating it four of the large group stood on the four pressure plates acting as dead man switches and if they fell off them then the explosives would go off.

At this point, Police including OMON units began to gather across the river has gotten reports of the heavy fire coming out from the building. Plans for another attempted crossing were halted however when sinister news reached them. The hostage takers contacted the Police using a phone line inside the building. Sulambek Islamov himself on the phone said that they have four hundred and twenty-three hostages and that their demands were simple. Freedom for Chechnya under the Caucasus Emirate. Recognition of Chechen Independence at the Global Assembly. Withdrawal of all Russian government personnel from Chechnya. They also wanted Alu Alkhanov in the vicinity. They are SPIR and Russia has one hour to formally respond to these demands. For every minute after that first hour, a hostage would die. The news of this incident had already spread due to people calling it in, but the phone call leaked shortly afterward to the national media. Every previous Russian administration since 2001 had neglected the Chechen question, and now it was being asked right here in Moscow.

The Spanish Embassy in Moscow was full of life, only a short two miles separated the building from where the incident was about to happen, the windows open with the warm air breezing into the building when suddenly the shots could be heard in the distance and then explosions could be heard which triggered the embassy security into action, they rushed into their security room where the weapons armory was located and the ten agents donned' their bulletproof vests and grabbed their weaponry, this ranged from a Heckler & Koch G36 to Heckler & Koch MP5 and they had three magazines. A lone agent positioned himself on the roof which he had a Heckler & Koch HK417 with a scope on and also had three magazines ready to fire.

Staff would be rounded up and placed into the main conference room, the ambassador was placed in a safe room with his family, a blast proof door separated him from his office. It was a waiting game as the security agents positioned themselves around the building. An emergency alert was also sent back to Madrid.

The personnel at the argentine Embassy in Moscow, located some 2km away from the epicenter of the incident would quickly catch wind of the events currently unfilding. First they would begin picking things up from the internet, as social media would begin pouring comments and pictures of the ongoing security forces operations. As soon as they realized the magnitude of the attack, they would turn on the TV's and set local russian news channels that were broadcasting and covering the event.

They would begin monitoring everything closely and the ambassador would write a first confidential cable to Buenos Aires reporting the incident and indicating the chechen motives behind it. He would also inform that more reports would be following.

Due to the importante Buenos Aires put on the argentine-russian relations, the argentine government would be considering a firm statement fo support to Moscow.

Major Hugo Rivers was the military attache posted to the Australian Embassy in Moscow. As the only military occupant of the mission, the Ambassador thought fit to add to his morning duties the responsibility of raising the Australian National Flag. Today was unlike any other flag raising he had done over the past fourteen months of service in the Russian capital. The buzz of traffic behind him going about their commute to work, the flag made it to the top of the pole. Stepping back one pace and offering a salute, he would conduct an about turn and walk the few paces towards the front entrance of the building. As he did so, he heard a crack in the distance. A veteran of conflict, he knew it was gunfire but passed it off as common criminals.

Such a thought was erased almost immediately after, as a sustained rate of fire picked up and panicked motorists. The Australian Embassy was no more than 900 metres from the skyscraper, so the sound of gunfire was loud and amplified by the confines of the dense city. Major Rivers scrambled for the door. After making it inside to the panicked faces of the embassy foyer staff, he would secure the front entrance via padlock and a series of built-in locks designed to prevent break-ins. "Lock this building down now!" He would direct Janette, the clerk and chief fire and emergencies warden for the building. She would scramble up, pressing an alert button under her desk. Similar to how a bank secures itself when a panic button is pressed in the event of robbery, instant barricades would fall from the tops of windows in the foyer area, sealing the empty reception from the mission itself.

As staff rushed around into designated shelter areas, Major Rivers would rush up to the Ambassador's office to ensure that he was secured. To his horror, he arrived to an empty room. Rushing back out into the top-story corridor, he would grab a passing aide. "Where is the Ambassador?" A shrug was the only reply, and expletives were exchanged by both parties. "GLEN?" He would shout out down the grand staircase.

"WHAT'S UP?" Glen Townsend, the Australian Federal Police liaison officer, would respond.
"WHERE IS THE AMBASSADOR?"
"ISN'T HE UP THERE WITH YOU?"
Silence.

Glen knew that the Ambassador had been seeing a younger Russian woman who resided at the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building. His first phone-call was not to Canberra but to a contact with the Russian police, informing them that their Ambassador could potentially be inside the building or caught up in some way by the attack. Nothing was confirmed at this stage. Major Rivers sent out the first diplomatic telegram back to Canberra informing DFAT that the Ambassador was MIA and that the Charge d'Affaires was assuming command as head of mission.

Ambassador Peter Tesch had left the building moments before the terrorists crashed through the gates. Walking along Podgorskaya Naberezhnaya due East on his way in to work, he would turn to see the terrorists firing and rushing in to the building. Taking cover behind a concrete barrier as the rate of fire began to increase, he would shelter-in-place mere metres away from the Pochta Rossii building, hoping that the terrorists could not see him. One of the RPG rounds shot at police would launch fragmentation into the air, striking the Ambassador in the lower left leg and causing minor injuries.

Russian commando frogmen or Naval Spetsnaz and military support would be requested by the Moscow Police and demanded by politicians as the dire nature of the situation came to full focus on the international media. The Russian Federation only had control of a couple or so state-run media platforms at this point, so halting the flow of information was difficult. Leaks on the situation kept coming out and no one had a clew as to where it was coming from. At least no one in the Police did when questioned by government officials. It was however obvious that someone in the Police department was leaking information to the news, and when mixed with first-person reports from those whom had been at the scene... it painted a very grim picture indeed. Thus, the Government had to respond quickly since the world was apparently watching them. These hostage takers, these terrorists were making the world watch how Russia responded to them and was putting the Russian Federation under immense political stress. It was all happening in the heart of Russia as well, right at the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building which was close to so many embassies in Moscow. 101st PDSS Detachment, 102nd PDSS Detachment, 136th PDSS Detachment, 137th PDSS Detachment, 140th PDSS Detachment, and 152nd PDSS Detachment were called into active service a fact that was made no secret as the Ministry of Defence wanted the world to know they were taking this very seriously. However, in the public reports, they were only referred to as Spetsnaz, not under their specialized roles. These Chechen terrorists had struck during a point in time when Alpha Group, Vympel Group, and Smerch Group were all undergoing rebuilds and thus were not ready. Even Spetsnaz Gru had nothing to offer undergoing the same exact rebuild. Russia only had the Frogmen, but the Frogmen were highly skilled none the less and would fit the role if need be. The 16th Motor Rifle Division from Kubinka air base was also being deployed to help secure the situation and to ensure these radicals received no help and had no escape. The 16th Motor Rifle Division would fuel all of it's Ural-4320s, 2S3M2 Akatsiyas. MT-LBM (izdeliye 6 MB), Tornado-G, Zoopark-1, 2S31 Vena, 2K22M1 Tunguska, ASU-85, MTU-72, Ural-44202, Ural-4320-19, Ural-4320 Tanker, and UAZ Patriot Diesel to have full fuel tanks. 2S3M2 Akatsiya would be armed with ten Incendiary and ten Frag-HE artillery shells. The MT-LBM (izdeliye 6 MB) would in their cargo bays carry another ten Incendiary and ten Frag-HE artillery shells for use by the self-propelled artillery. The Tornado-G would be armed with just 9M55S Thermobaric rockets. 2S31 Vena would be armed to max capacity with HE-FRAG rounds. 2K22M1 Tunguska would be armed each with 8 x 9M311-M1 and 2 × 30 mm 2А38M loaded with max ammo stores. Troops would put on complete sets of Ratnik and Barmica including armor, uniform, and "Strelets" ("Musketeer") system. They would arm themselves with AK-12s, VSSM Vintorez, RPK-74M, RPG-29 "Vampir" (TBG-29V only), 9K333 Verba, and RGN grenades. Specialists getting equipment like the VSSM Vintorez, RPK-74M, RPG-29 "Vampir" (TBG-29V only), and 9K333 Verba while the bulk of the troops being deployed will be seen with the AK-12 assault rifle. They also all took with then six standards reloads with standard FMJ ammunition or other basic standard ammo. The 156th Motor Rifle Regiment, 167th Motor Rifle Regiment, 249th Motor Rifle Regiment, 224th Artillery Regiment, 14th Mortar Battalion, 16th Anti-Air Battalion, 15th Assault Gun Battalion, 17th Combat Engineer Battalion, 18th Signal Battalion, 24th Medical Battalion, 25th Transport Battalion, and 6th Reconnaissance Battalion would embark on their vehicles and deploy in a column towards Moscow on the A100 before getting off onto the E30 and riding the rest of the way into the heart of Moscow. The exact nature and numbers of this deployment were obscured as there were no leaks from within the military and all that was known was that troops were being deployed. At this moment Moscow had an emergency alert and lock-down in progress. People were told to return to their homes and to stay indoors. Police Amped up patrols around the main entrances to the city and formed a blockade of Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building. They formed a one-mile radius blockade and evacuated the area but did not dare to approach the building just yet.

The Russian Police had been informed that Ambassador Peter Tesch could possibly either be a hostage or have been caught in the initial attack. However, the hostage-takers made no mention of having such a high-value hostage. One would assume if they knew that they would have made it known as soon as possible. So, the second option to the Russian Police was more likely to them at this point. But that still left the question as to where the Ambassador was. They would inform Glen that they would search for him in the area and let the Australian Embassy know if they locate the Ambassador. Russian Police would send a team of four to the Pamyatnik Pogranichnikam Otechestva armed with two AK-74M, one AS Val, and one PP-2000 with the lead element having a pair of binoculars. Setting up under cover of the trees they would start scanning the North embankment and north side of the building. Not just looking for the Ambassador, but also gaining intel on the situation at hand. Another team of four armed the same way would place themselves under the cover of trees at Mount and begin scanning the west embankment and west side building for clues. They would radio back via encrypted radio their findings to command. Depending on if they spotted the ambassador or not they would also tell the Australian Embassy they had located him and were planning a rescue attempt. At this point, the Police Chief of the Moscow Police Department would call back the Terrorist Hostage takers. He would tell them that the Russian Government is willing to talk, but that they need more time. It will take more than an hour to get whom they wanted to hear and what they asked for was massive. Sulambek Islamov would respond that they did not expect the Russians to give them everything they wanted within an hour, they only expected them to respond. Now that they were on the line and responding Sulambek Islamov would tell the Chief of Police that they would get what they want in eight hours or they would kill hostages. The Chief would reason with him saying that it will at least take a day to even get the person they want here. Let's take this one step at a time he would reason to Sulambek Islamov who would not respond. Sulambek Islamov would extend the deadline by ten hours giving the Russians eighteen hours to make progress on their demands. He doesn't care how they do it, just do it. The phone would then hang up the first deadline met.

640px-FrogmenExercise2017-02.jpg
At this point, the 101st PDSS Detachment, 102nd PDSS Detachment, 136th PDSS Detachment, 137th PDSS Detachment, 140th PDSS Detachment, and 152nd PDSS Detachment each consisting of ten Naval Spetsnaz had gathered in the Main Building of the Ministry of Defense. They circled around their commanding officer as the room they were in had been cleared and made private. The contents of this meeting were secret and would not escape this room at any point during the operation."Comrades, as you are all very much aware the Kotelnicheskaya Embankment Building has been attacked and occupied by Chechen terrorists. They claim to have taken 423 hostages and are threatening to kill them unless the Government gives them what they want. They have already proven that they are willing to kill in the initial assault. So far we know they have set up a heavy machine gun on the third floor facing the main bridge leading to the embankment. They have RPG teams facing the north and west on the third floor as well. Any thin-skinned vehicle that approached will be chewed to pieces. Tanks are at risk from those RPG teams as we do not know what warheads they are using. However, there are countless injured within their line of sight. Our first objective is to gather up the injured and the dead. We cannot rely on the police to do this due to the dangerous nature of approaching the building. That is why we are sending you. But not to worry, we have you covered. From storage, we are going to give you six T-62MD-1 Maine Battle Tanks with loaded with Drozd active protection systems. Each team will follow behind a tank using it as cover to collect the injured and dead. If they do not have more dangerous RPG warheads then we can employ the use of the BTR-T to act as a taxi. This operation begins as soon as the 16th Motor Rifle Division arrives. Am I understood? Good! Now go get geared up!"

The Special Air Service Operators had been given full mission briefings surrounding the situation occuring in Russia, their request for assistance and were given a couple of hours to muster all their equipment. Given the severity, their attire was conventional combat clothing as opposed to counter terrorism configurations. After the hours of preparation, they had boarded the A330 MRTT and begun their trip to Moscow, abiding Air Traffic Control. The Russian Government was privately made aware of all of this, but aside from that, the deployment was top secret due to the sensitivity of the mission. The attire showed no British involvement (I.e. No flags), and counter terrorism setups were packed just in case along with extra weapons and ammunition. The 60 personnel from 'The Regiment' consisted of a wide variety of specialisations, from snipers to demolitionists and breachers.

"He's there, down the street." Inspector Mai observed, using a reflective mirror to peer out onto the street. Aside from the sporadic gunfire, the main road was quiet. Civilians had long since scattered, leaving behind running cars and a sudden... stillness. It was quite bizarre. "About fifty meters away... I have movement, but it looks like there's alot of blood. I can't tell for sure."

"Let me see... here, hold this." Inspector Giang said, handing his AK-74U off to Mai and taking the reflective mirror. He squinted into it, sighting the wounded individual and scanning the surroundings. "Looks like that truck can give some good cover should we need it. I have a good field of fire but everything looks a bit exposed. The Embankment Building has damn near perfect view of fire all over the street. Ambassador Ho, are you sure this is what you wish to do?"

"I'm absolutely sure," Ambassador Khang Ho whispered. He was shaking in the corner, huddled into the safest corner of the room and covered by the heavy wooden desk. The Vietnamese Consulate General to Moscow was quite small. After the Red Purge, the Socialist Embassy had been evacuated of it's primary staff, leaving the Ambassador, a small retinue, and two Inspectors of the State Security Service to represent Vietnam's interests in the land of Russia. When the attack had begun, Ambassador Ho had immediately hit the panic button which sent a call to the Vietnamese State Ministry. What the State Ministry had told them was the polite equilvalent of telling the Consulate General to kick rocks and wait for a Spetsnaz rescue.

"Ambassador," Inspector Giang said, handing the mirror off to Mai. "As your Chief of Security, it is my duty to inform you that if you order us to go rescue the man and we are incapacitated, your security will be compromised."

"I understand," Khang replied. The junior and inexperienced diplomat took a shaky breath to steel his nerves. "Vietnam is a place of refugee. Take that man here where he can be safe. It's our duty."

Inspector Giang shrugged. "Your orders... your head. Mai, where's your shotgun?"

"There," Mai replied, gesturing with his head towards the Remington 870 and peering out of the window. Spetsnaz activity was picking up and sirens were blaring off in the distance. "What's the plan?"

Inspector Giang picked up the shotgun and racked it. Loaded chamber with buckshot. He shouldered it and walked over to Mai, leaning out the window. Other than the earlier rocket fire, it was still quiet. The lull in combat wasn't going to last forever. They had to make a move now. "Do you see that box truck?"

"N-... yes, I do. The floral one?"

"That's the one," Inspector Giang gestured to it. "You climb up on top there and give me some cover. I'll run down the street using the sidewalk and grab him as fast as I can."

"Alright then, old friend. Don't run and grab him. Use the abandoned cars for cover. I'll try to watch over you. Who knows if the Russians will shoot at us." Mai said, flicking the safety off the AK-74U and putting it on semi. He pulled out his Model 10 revolver, placing it on the desk. "Let's go. Ambassador Ho, you will remain here. Should we not return, barricade the front door and shoot anyone that comes through it."

Together, the two set off to rescue Ambassador Peter Tesch.

Russian Negotiator Zheleznov Anatolievich has been briefed on the situation, what the hostage-takers wanted, and what the Russian Government needed to happen. Secretly and privately he was told that they needed to stall for time while they got an operation ready. Either he gets them to surrender peacefully or they will be forced to go in. He was given the time until both Spetsnaz, SAS, and the Army were prepared to make a tactical assault. So not that much time to be honest, but he would work with what he had. In the Police Station, he would make the call to the same phone and extension that Sulambek Islamov had called from."Hello this is Zheleznov Anatolievich, is this Sulambek Islamov? The Russian Government is fully willing to listen and make preparations to make accommodations." he would say as a moment of silence followed."That is what the Police Officer said last time. I have seen no progress." Sulambek Islamovreplied dryly and with annoyance."Well, see, he was not authorized to make agreements. I have full authority to do so." Anatolyevich explained."Fine. Do you know what we want?" Sulambek replied impatiently."Yes, I know what you want. Now, we are currently working on getting international recognition for Chechnya, but such things take the time you know? We won't have an answer back from major countries for anywhere from a day to a week." he lied the Russian government having made no such attempts."If you are lying I will start killing hostages." Sulambek replied quickly."Listen, on the international stage there is without a doubt that many believe you are the good guys. Freedom fighters yes? You just want freedom for Chechnya, and killing those people will do you no good. Plus, how do we know they are still all alive?" Anatolyevich stated not getting a reply back for a moment."They are alive because I say they are alive." would reply not understanding what this Russian Negotiator was getting at."No, they are not. If we are to talk and get you what we want then we need to know that everyone you said is alive. We need a show of good faith yeah? Send out four hostages and we can start to get serious here. What would you have to lose if they confirm you indeed have that number of people hostage?" Anatolyevich questioned hoping he wasn't pushing too hard."You will get two." Sulambek replied."That's fine. Now, we are going to be sending in a team to collect them and the bodies that are left outside. They will be moving under armored cover. Obviously, you have the height advantage, so as a show of good will you will let them collect the hostages and bodies yes? They deserve at least a proper burial." the normal pause was replaced with a much longer one which followed the sound of the phone being put down. Sulambek had gone to speak with his fellow hostage takers before he returned with his answer."Agreed, you may retrieve the bodies and hostages." Anatolyevich practically did an air punch but held back his excitement."Thank you! I will update you on the progress of your demands." Anatolyevich would say before hanging up.

Six T-62MD-1 Maine Battle Tanks had been assembled from storage with four Tankers being called upon to operate them. Each of them wore 6B15 Cowboy Tanker Uniforms and took with them days worth of rations and water supply. Four each were assigned to a T-62MD-1 and each T-62MD-1 had to be fueled up and loaded. Due to the lack of armored targets, their ammunition loadout is 40 x OF-27 HEF-FS-T and the Drozd APS systems were completely loaded and activated. Four tanks started at the Bolshoy Ustyinskiy Bridge while another two started at Bolshoy Krasnokholmsky Bridge. Each tank had ten Naval Spetsnaz behind it in a column formation using the tank as cover. Each of them prior to deploying was given Barmica Infantry Combat Systems/Ratnik Infantry Combat Systems. In each ten man squad, six were given A-545 assault rifles with eight 30 round magazines + one in the rifle each filled with FMJ ammunition. Each of them was given two RDG-2Ch smoke grenades to provide the cover needed. One was given a VSSM sniper rifle with integrated Ratnik scope and a PP-2000 as a backup. For ammunition, they were given eight 20 round magazines with 20 rounds of suppressor grade ammo plus one loaded into the sniper rifle. They were also given four 20 round magazines for the PP-2000 loaded with 9×19mm 7N31 +P+. Two were given SR-3M Suppressed automatic rifles with eight thirty round magazines with suppressor grade ammunition plus one in the weapon. One was given a OTs-14-1A-01 with four thirty round magazines with FMJ ammunition but also carried with them a GM-94 with four VGM-93.100 grenade rounds. Each of the tanks had two stretchers on their back deck to be used to help move the dead or wounded. Four tanks would move across the Bolshoy Ustyinskiy Bridge at a walking pace, their gun slowly turning to keep focused on the building ready to fire at a moments notice. The other two tanks ventured over Bolshoy Krasnokholmsky Bridge doing much the same within column formation with 15 yards apart. Two tanks would cross at the bridge located at 55.747294, 37.640350 while the other two crossed the bridge at 55°44'55.8"N 37°38'42.7"E. The other group split in to two as well with one tank going to 55°44'42.2"N 37°38'33.8"E while another went to 55°44'44.0"N 37°38'46.3"E. The two groups of two tanks were then at 55°44'48.9"N 37°38'26.9"E and 55°44'54.7"N 37°38'43.8"E. However something was amiss, as the Spetsnaz and Tanks arrived they got a radio report in from the OMON recon team that had set up North of the building. They had spotted movement of armed men running under the cover of abandoned cars. The Spetsnaz were asked if they had eyes on the armed men directly North East of them."Copy, we have eyes on suspects. They do not appear to be the same group as the Chechens. Orders?" after a moment their orders became clear, move with caution and if possible detain. Orders clear they moved under the cover of the tanks as from the windows a heavy machine gun followed their movements as well as an RPG team. They began to approach the group of Vietnamese and as they did so they began to collect the wounded or dead stacking them on the back of their tank. However, at this point from the Pochta Rossii two hostages, a man and a woman in street clothes were pushed from the building and ordered to go to the recovery team. Between them and the tank, however, was the Vietnamese which they ignored running towards the Spetsnaz who was making steady progress.

Rudomino, Chiptrip, and Kosmodamianskaya Emb, 4 where they would start gathering more in-depth information on the Hostage Takers and report their movements from the outside. The noose was in place, all it would take is one slip up from either side and a bloodbath could take place.

Upon approach, the SAS A330 MRTT was secretly and privately contacted and told to land at Chkalovsky Airport where the 25th Transport Battalion would pick them up for transportation. Their arrival was slotted in they would be secretly awaited for at the airport which was one of the closest military ones to Moscow itself. The 25th Transport Battalion would dispatch two Ural-4320 borrowed from the 167th Motor Rifle Regiment and top of their fuel tanks before four Logistics Infantry would get into the vehicle cabins, start them off, and take the direct route to Chkalovsky Airport. They would park next to the parking location designated for the British aircraft and park with fifteen yards of separation. Then they would wait for the SAS to arrive.

Inspector Giang was a mere five yards away from the fallen ambassador when movement caught his eye.

"What th-..?" Inspector Giang looked up from cover, seeing a man and women sprint past him. They were running down the street towards the direction of the Spetsnaz, having ignored the Inspector completely. He peered out of cover, tracing their path with his eyes and swore. The lull in activity had ceased and was beginning to pick up. Spetsnaz were beginning to move down the street. Off in the distance, he heard the sirens grow ever louder and ever closer. He had forgotten how much time he took getting to the Ambassador safely. Inspector Giang turned around, looking at the box truck where Inspector Mai was laying down with his rifle. Inspector Giang immediately raised two fingers, bringing them to his eyes.

I SEE.

He raised one finger and brought it down, cupping his chin and then rubbing his left cheek.

ONE HOSTAGE. MALE.

He raised his hand in an O, brought up both hands and made a plus sign, and gestured to his arm.

TEN PLUS, AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.

He pointed to himself and swept his hand towards the fallen ambassador.

I'M GOING.

He pointed to Inspector Mai and brought his hand to his forehead as if shielding his eyes from the Sun, then he patted his scalp.

YOU. WATCH. COVER AREA.

Inspector Giang hoisted himself out of cover and jogged to the fallen ambassador. From the Consulate-General, the wound was much worse than it seemed. Despite the lack of noise, the Australian had only received minor wounds. He was safe to move quickly, barring some hidden wound that would worsen if the Ambassador was suddenly jostled. Inspector Giang reached down and picked him up, carrying him in a traditional fireman's carry. In one hand, he held onto his shotgun and the other was wrapped around the Australian's legs. Slowly but surely, the Inspector carried the Ambassador away from harm's way and towards the refuge of the Vietnamese Consulate General.
