The End Of The Republic?

ZBC.png

Over the course of the last few days, a single protest has resulted in the complete, and total, collapse of Zimbabwean society. After riots were suppressed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the international backlash was met with derision by President Mugabe's administration. The war of words quickly escalated, resulting in the embassies of three sovereign nations, Brazil, Belgium, and Australia, being subjected to a siege. While Australia's embassy was eventually breached, causing the staff within to be arrested, the Belgian embassy exchanged fire with police with automatic weapons. It is unknown if any casualties were sustained by the Belgians, however it is obvious that the Zimbabwean police took a severe beating, as shown by the scenes of bodies littering the streets surrounding the Belgian embassy.

This was quickly followed up by a special operations strike perpetrated by The French. Reports indicate that they landed in the vicinity of the capital, where they were met by jubilant crowds. Meanwhile, Australian special forces have been seen both in the city near Harare Remand Prison, and Mugabe International Airport. It is still unknown why they were interested in the prison, but the appearance of commercial airliners at the airport indicate that it is currently under foreign military control for the purpose of evacuating foreigners and refugees.

The only question now is; what will become of Zimbabwe? The police, from what we've heard, has completely collapsed. The army, apparently, mutinied against their commander-in-chief when ordered to face the incoming enemy forces, and the president's current whereabouts is unknown. With the structures that allowed Mugabe to lead the nation reduced to metaphorical rubble, one can only wonder what will be built from the ruins.
