MUTUAL DEFENSE PACT
BETWEEN THE
ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT
AND THE
STATE OF ISRAELThe Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel, hereinafter know as "The Parties":
Concerned about the volatile global situation;
Noting the importance of international cooperation to solve security related problems;
Recognizing that national security can only be achieved by establishing a stable regional context;
Highlighting the potential of bilateral cooperation;
Establish that:
1. In case of an unprovoked act of aggresion against either of the Parties, the affected Party is entitled to invoke the present Mutual Defense Pact and the other Party must attend in its defense and/or support.
2. The Parties will establish a permanent and direct line of communication between the corresponding authorities to monitor the regional and global situation and take preemtive meassures to be prepared in case any of the Parties is victim of an unprovoked act of aggresion.
3. The Parties will take the corresponding meassuress to ensure logistic and military responses are coordinated and efficient, such as the establishment of join bases and units, as well as the execution of training exercises to increase joint operational capabilities.
4. The present Mutual Defense Pact shall remain secret between the Parties, in order to guarantee national security.
