Accelerationist Advocacy Group
Accelerationist Advocacy Group (AAG) is a techno-utopian communist front of the Democrat Party (DP) in the National Assembly. The mass organization has around 3.3 million members, representing the confederation’s largest tech enthusiasts’ group. Its members are known for their role in various technological cooperatives in Thailand and frequently dominate future-oriented headlines. Unlike other mass organizations in Thailand, AAG is directly accountable to its parent communist party with limited autonomy despite maintaining a robust grassroots tradition. This organization’s members are directly involved with many popular mobile applications and webpages, such as SahaiLink, CollectiveClips, and Dialectical Search.
The AAG serves as DP’s primary means of mass organization outside its communist party, which has preserved a stricter registration process. Technological integration allows a straightforward application to the communist front. Nationwide, its members often hold public events for children and elders alike to learn and develop necessary digital and programming skills. Parents reported high satisfaction with how the mass organization treats their children and the variety of courses it provides. The AAG maintains an active social media presence and frequently uses its website to host vibrant digital events. Concerns have been raised from some sectors about whether the communist front’s priority of screen time would result in negative consequences for face-to-face interactions.
Like other mass organizations, the AAG is committed to the realization of a communist society in Thailand. However, its stance is more radical and comparable to the Anarcho-Communist Federation. A crucial distinction lies in that the AAG’s parent communist party believes that overwhelming and continuous investment in technology advancement will lead to an accelerated realization of communism. They envision a society where workers are liberated entirely from manual work, spending less than two hours a day inside their offices. As a result of mass automation, their vision of a communist society includes humans’ liberty to engage in leisure activities since birth in a post-scarcity economy.
