"Your Majesty, thank you for accepting my call. I would like to start out by pointing on the fact that it is my intention to end the recent period of incommunication between both our countries.

I understand that given the current global circumstances we have more to gain from working together rather than from competing. I hope you agree with me.

"I am delighted to hear this. There are indeed several issues I would like to talk with you, your highness. For that reason, and also in order to send a message to the world, pointing out argentine-brazilian cooperation. I would like to invite you to Buenos Aires for a high level meeting to discuss these matters of commerce, geopolitics and development.

We can arrange the meeting at your earliest convenience and will guarantee all safety meassures and protocols you require.

Everything would be arranged in Buenos Aires. Jorge Newbery airport would be prepared with the sealing off of one of the remote parking sites in order to accomodate the aircraft of the brazilian Emperor. Security meassures would be taken both there and along the estipulated path to the Governmental Palace.

With the day arriving, a red carpet would be laid leading from the parking site of the aircraft to the vehicular access where the motorcade would be waiting. A military band would be on one side, ready to tune in the brazilian anthem. Further away, few accredited journalists would be allowed to witness the arrival.

The argentine vicepresident would be the one receiving the brazilian emperor and his delegation.

"The pleasure is all mine your highness, I hope you had a pleasure flight. I invite you to come with me, we have your vehicles ready and President Cambiasso is looking forward to meeting you."

With everyone on board and security in place, they would leave the aorport and head directly to the Governmental Palace all along the shore of the Rio de la Plata. Once there, the President would be waiting at the main entrance hall, santing alone on the middle of a red carpet in front of the big white marble staris leading to the first floor and the Presidential office.

After polite and protocolar salutations, the delegation from Brazil led by the Emperor and the argentine President with his advisors would all enter the private conference room.

"Please, take a seat your highness. May I offer you something to drink? Coffee?"

"Yes, of course. While we have multiple items on the agenda we would like to discuss, I think given the pressing circumstances we would like to discuss with you matters of antarctic politics. Are you aware of the current situation regarding the unilteral swedish claim?"

"Yes, We are well aware of the politics involving the Continent and the crisis that seems to be brewing due to it, Although we are taking a Neutral stance to the issue, we are questioning the legality of Sweden's Claim to the Entire continent."

"That is good to hear. Sweden's unilateral act is an affront to all nations who mantain decade if not century old claims. A northern hemisphere nation, claiming souther lands out of the blue. Its just not acceptable.

We are aware of the proposal introduced to the GA by Australia, and while we value their efforts, there are multiple issues on that document we do not necesarily share. Argentina mantains an almost 100 year old claim over a big area on and around the Peninsula, just 2 hours away from our southermost city. And we intend to make it count.

Now, we know that this needs to be solved peacefully and in an even way. This is why we wanted to discuss with you the possibility of having Brazil on board the proposal we made to Australia. Brazil is a southern nation as well, and therefore FAR more entitled to have a permanent antarctic presence than nations like Sweden. Argentina would like to offer its support for Brazil to establish and mantain a claim over a portion of Antarctica, west of the argentine claim. We can provide your nation not only with political support, but also with expertise and material such as icebreakers and station modules.

Like the Arctic for the norther nations, Antarctica should be for the southern nations.

What are your thoughts on this?

"I see, It's an interesting proposal.

In the current moment, Brazil does not have the intentions of claiming portions of Antarctica, although many of our researchers are interested in establishing bases in the Icy continent, we have not prepared for such operations.

We do not wish for any quarrels with Sweden or the Nordic Countries, but we believe their claim is unfounded.

Although at the moment there are no plans for a claim, we are still willing to provide Political and Diplomatic support towards Argentina and Australia's efforts.

"Once things calm down, we would be delighted to assist Brazil into establishing scientific bases on the continent. Just let us know.

We would also like to avoid any conflict with Sweden, but we cannot ignore a 2 year old invented claim trying to be imposed on us. I hope Sweden sees this and doesn't do anything foolish.

We thank you for your support, and will keep you posted on the latest events down there.

On more local matters, we would like to know a little about your nations plans for development and regional politics. One of our ideas is to further integrate our bilateral trade by improving transport infrastructure between Argentina and Brazil, for example, expanding the highway and railway connections along our northeaster and your southwestern borders.

We could also discuss the possibility on working together on joint development programs. We share a very long coast on the Atlantic, meaning it would be in our best interest to have long range maritime radars at our disposals.

"We are currently focusing on our infrastructure, in fact, not too long ago, we finished a project enhancing the railways in our Southern Provinces, we would be willing to help build a railway system connecting the Argentine-Brazilian Border.

We have a Research and Development facility that can assist in joint development programs, both civilian and military developments.

Brazil is more than capable of assisting Argentina in its Research, with our facilities and with resources.

"Excelent news. We could perhaps start by discussing an improvement of the railway connections near the argentine town of Alvear in the Misiones Province, which is currently connected to the national argentina railroad network, but would need a modernization. Which would be the nearest brazilian city or town with connection to your railroad network there?

Regarding the R&D, we will be relaunching our state-owned military factory with the development of a new family of Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicles, that will include IFV, APV, MEV and RV versions amogn others. This would be the first step and we would be delighted to partner up with some of the prestigious brazilian military industries to develop even more ambitious projects.

I hope you see and understand with this that Argentina genuinly desires a strategic alliance with Brazil.

On a more geopolitical level, how do you see the rest of South America? Any opinions, plans?

An personal aide would quietly enter the room and hand a note to President Cambiasso. The President would quickly read it.

"Your Majesty, I was just informed of a public call (british side not stated as encrypted, private or secret) that british officials apparently currently hold with brazilian authorities. It was mentioned there the possibility of a joint military exercise between brazilian and british naval forces in the South Atlantic, specifically in the Malvinas area. You surely know we have a pending issue there, but my Government has no intention to heat things up there and we would prefer for this issue to continue... ehm... obscured. A military exercise there, involving a nation we consider a strategic ally and friend, such as Brazil, would certainly force us to make a public statement. If it is possible, and with no intention to interfere in your sovereign decisions, we would like to request you to conduct such exercises somewhere else, mayber further north, just to avoid any potential missunderstanding.

I ask you this humbly and as a friend.

"The closest city to Alvear within our territory is...Itaqui, resting just beside the Uruguay river, as I see, there are no bridges or railroads connecting them, just a port, We can assist in the construction of a bridge crossing the river, as well as send Brazilian Engineers to assist Argentina's Railroad modernization.

Those are excellent news Mr.President, As I wished to formally invite Argentina to join the Lusophonic Organization of Free States, although not a Lusophonic Nation, Argentina would still be welcomed as an Observer Nation. The only members present in the Organization at the current time Is Brazil and our Ally, Portugal.

Plans? Well, I guess as you may know Mr Cambiasso, We have inherited a very badly beaten Brazil, stripped from its Honour, Culture, Values and Richness, Although it has been more than a Century since Brazil became a republic....and ever since that Unfortunate day in 1889, Brazil has suffered from Instability, Political Turmoil, Coups and Weak governments. It was a blessing that the people finally opened their eyes and chose the correct option during the Referendum. The Brazilian People have suffered long enough, and now, it is time that I and the new government, give back to the people what they deserve. What I wish to do is bring Brazil back to its former glory and prestige, the road ahead is long and treacherous, but with hard work and commitment, I'm sure it is possible.

I understand your concerns, Mr Cambiasso, We were already planning on making an exercise somewhere else
