"Shit," screams Old Eight. "Let's head back. We could have done that run a lot better."

"Agree. But that's what we're up here for, sir."

"Acknowledge, that."

The two F-16's turn back towards Niteroi Tactical Air Force base. The Brazilian Commander radios the Argentine commander.

"I think that wraps it up, sir. From the reports coming from the ground, it is what we thought. Just rocks. No where for my marines to stay. I am going to have the Marines head back to the LCU's.

It has been requested that we head back to Niteroi Naval Base. After a day's leave the commanders have been requested to speak with President Romero. There will be a conference call with President Herroro. We will give them an after action report.

The Ka-27 would take off again and head back to their frigates, where in the meantime everything would be being prepared for the departure back to the continent after a successful run of live-fire exercises and drills. The general feeling was that everyone managed to learn something from this.

The ships would depart directly towards the continent, navigating in formation and contacting the port authorities once within reach of the Niteroi Naval Base. With the ships safely docked, the crews would be given rest time and the ships would be prepared to be ready for any new potential departure.

Everything would be prepared for the after-action report, the argentine president would be informed as well.

In mid-afternoon three VBMT-LR's arrrive and park in the Niteroli wharf. The lead and rear car has a driver and four MP's each carrying IWI Tavor's. The middle car has a driver and one MP in the front, also carrying IWI Tavor's. Save for the drivers, all MP's exit the vehicles and quickly form a box around the entire convoy and set up a small perimeter.

From the middle car steps Captain Miguel Alvarez. Tall and slender, with the looks of a recruiting poster he stands at attention waiting near the gangplank for the Argentine Naval representatives. An MP stands at attention alongside him. From one of the Frigates he sees two figures walk down the gangplank in white dress uniforms making there way towards him. He, like most officers has been brushing up on his Spanish is quite eager to use it, especially in military terms.

Captain Gimenez and Lieutenant Mussachio were tasked with representing the argentine part in the after-action report session. The idea was for the officers to participate in the meeting together with the brazilians and to both, discuss the recent maneuvers and give a mutual feedback on what flaws and weaknesses they saw on their counterparts, and to begin talking about what future military cooperations instances could be carried out between the two countries.

The officers would dress in their formal white argentine navy uniforms and have a brief meeting with the fleet commander to review what was to be said in the meeting. They would be informed of the arrival of the brazilian pick up and leave the argentine frigate together with the Brazilian escort.

The argentine ships would remain docked with the personnel carrying out routine harbor duties and resupply as needed.

Captain Miguel Alvarez salutes both men as approach him and then gives each a firm handshake. "Welcome to Brazil. The President and defence are eager to speak with you. Won't you come with me." Captain Miguel Alvarez then opens the door the Argentines and together they hop into the VBMT-LR and head for the Defense Department.

At the defense department Captain Alvarez escorts the Argentine officers past security down several flights of stairs past soldiers and sailors and into a large conference room. At a large circular table are the President Victor Romero and defense minister Oscar DeSilva. Both men rise as the Argentinians enter the room.

"Gentlemen, thank you for attending this vital meeting. We have videos we look over as well as maps on our large screen here," as President Romero gestures to the large theater-sized screen on the wall. Please have a seat."

The president then leans forward and says, "I am a firm believer in total honesty, so please be forthright. What are your initial impressions of the exercise overall? And then tell me what you thought of the Brazilian efforts."

"Mr. President, it is an honor for us to be here and be able to interact with you and give you our sides opinion on the recent successful exercise that brought Argentina's and Brazil's naval forces together.

We can say that the brazilian military command had our own officers on dangerous terrain, even forcing us to incur in certain errors, such as to make us disregard and sideline the presence of fast attack crafts and missile boats that could perform lethal strikes on our frigates, all this due to focusing our attention to the skies in the attempts to scare off your recurring F-16 incursions.

At the same time, we could say that your Air Force should perhaps pay more attention on holding the element on surprise when attempting air strikes, they seemed to hafe flown to high and make it easy for our frigates to detect and counter their approach.

More to this you will find in our report." The argentine captain would take out 3 folders with documentation from his attaché and had it over to the brazilian naval official near him.

"Here you will find a complete review of the exercise, from the argentine side."

"Thank you, captain. Yes, with 7500 km of coastline to cover we made sure to have fast attack boats that could deal a lethal blow to potential enemies. And you are correct in your assessment of your Air Force's performance."

The President shoots an angry glance at Defense Minister DeSilva.

"This will not happen again. And i thank you for your file. It will be thoroughly studied. I feel this exercise was very beneficial. Does the Argentine government have another in mind?

I was thinking of a joint naval exercise. Since your frigates are already here. Perhaps we should deploy a few subs and a Destroyer. Maybe you could send one of your aircraft carriers for the exercise?"

"Well, I understand a way back there were discussions of joint infantry training operations, specifically regarding jungle warfare. In an theoretical ground war scenario with a foreign power, although much unlikely, it would be wise to have an improved operational capability on the south american jungle terrain. SO, this could be a good option.

As for another naval exercise, yeas, of course, this would be something the argentine command would surely approve. An integrated carrier operation would be a good idea to show our nations capabilities, we could also discuss to make some of this exercise public in order to show the world that we are working together to safeguard the south american interests and sovereignty on the ground and on the sea."

"I agree on both accounts. However, as you said a jungle operation is highly unlikely. We can save that for another time.

An integrated carrier operation best suits our operational needs at the moment. And as you already have four frigates docked here, it would be best to use them now.
