1) Purpose​

Brazil invites information packages for new-build multirole fighter aircraft to modernize the FAB (Força Aérea Brasileira) combat aviation. Responses should support a subsequent RFP and possible Domestic Production Licence (DPL) discussion.

• Interoperability (IFF/crypto or equivalents).

B. Weapons & pods

• Availability and integration status for BVR AAM and WVR AAM families; guided A/G munitions; targeting/ECM/recce pods currently supported.
• Export-control dependencies (third-party approvals).

C. Training & simulation

• Pilot/maintainer training pipelines, CBT/PTT, FMS, and mission-planning systems; proposed timeline to IOC.

D. Sustainment & MRO

• In-country MRO concept, spares, GSE, tech pubs, field service reps; options availability-based / power-by-the-hour.
• Reliability metrics and typical fleet availability.

E. Industrial cooperation

• Total number of aircraft to be supplied: 48 (+24 optional)
• Options for DPL/licensed assembly in Brazil, kit supply (CKD/SKD), data package/IP scope, local content and work share with Brazilian industry.

Extended MRO agreements​

I am required to inform you that, in accordance with French arms export regulations, an arms export request must be submitted and receive approval prior to the delivery of this platform. Director Dos Santos, Thank you for reaching out to the Kingdom of Poland in regards to a new multirole fighter for the Republic of Brazil. Unfortunately, I must inform you that the Kingdom of Poland currently has a stockpile of MiG-29s for use with our Royal Air Force. We are unaware of any X-26 Grot currently in use by our armed forces, or any armed forces for that matter. Should we become aware of any X-26 Grot aircraft being produced and used worldwide, I will be sure to inform your government about the discovery. Once again, it is unfortunate that the Kingdom of Poland is unable to assist your government at the current time.

We, and the manufacturer Saab AB, are extremely proud of the platforms we provide to worldwide defence and can say with great pride that the Saab JAS 39 Gripen is one of the most advanced aircraft in the modern defence area internationally. It's light single-engine supersonic multirole fighter foundation allows for extensive operational use across a variety of different environmental variables and operational necessities.

With that said, the export of this platform is heavily restricted and as such an extensive national security review will need to take place prior to export. I have noted your projected units and this will form part of our assessment in the days to come.
