Thailand occupies a pivotal position in Southeast Asia, economically dynamic, strategically located, and diplomatically balanced. France views this with great interest and respect. In a global environment increasingly shaped by shifting alignments, nations that value sovereign decision-making and diversified partnerships have natural common ground.

I believe there is significant potential to expand cooperation between our countries in defense technology, infrastructure development, trade, and educational exchange. France seeks partnerships that are practical, stable, and mutually beneficial. I would welcome the opportunity to initiate high-level dialogue between our governments to explore such avenues.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Thailand has received a communication from the President of the French Republic.

I thank you for your bureaucratic message, President Moreau. While I am certain that you are underestimating the ideological differences between our two nations, the confederal government of Thailand remains bound by previous delegated responsibilities and agreed-upon policies enacted by our communes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Thailand is open to discussing the future of our relationship with the French representatives. I have an extremely lucid idea of what a “mutually beneficial partnership” entails, and I wish you could match my expectations, as I am engaging with your government despite my personal grave reservations.

Please do tell which is your government’s preferred meeting schedule and form. I am allowed to speak directly and privately with your ambassador or a high-level delegate.
