First of all, I would like to congratulate you and President Ming on your recent elections as well as the greater transition of the Chinese people away from tyranny.

As two major powers on the world scene, France and China have throughout most of the past several centuries maintained some kind of relationship. In recognition of your ongoing position of power within Asia and our own influential position in Europe I would like to propose the establishment of formal relations between the Chinese and French states. It is my understanding that President Ming is currently in Moscow as part of a state visit. I would hereby like to extend a formal invitation for the President to travel to Paris upon the conclusion of the state visit to Russia where the Empress would be more than excited to host her.

Please arrange for the processes to allow the plane with the information attached to this message into your airspace, we will communicate a more precise date when we know exactly when business in Moscow is concluded.

With the Chinese giving a positive response to the French outreach effort, the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs would lay the groundwork for President Ming's visit to Paris. In this they would coordinate with the Ministry of the Armed Forces and other relevant Ministries and government departments to guarantee a smooth transition from the conclusion of their visit to Russia to their flight to France. The Ministry would also contact their counterpart in China to coordinate the timing. Once all was done now it was just a matter of waiting for the Chinese to arrive.

Having concluded her business in Russia, Yi now found herself on another flight west instead of east. While her stated plans had always been for a wide foreign affairs policy, she didn't expect arriving in western Europe quite this early. But then, they were already tied to the Portuguese and looking to talk to the United Kingdom in light of Hong Kong anyway, so in a way she figured it wasn't that much of a deviation from stated policies. Plus, it seemed that France was looking to act beyond its station in the world so having some kind of relation there wasn't a bad plan anyway.

After departing Russia the plane would fly over international airspace wherever possible until arriving in France. The few places where it had to cross into another nation's airspace the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had sent prior notice that the President's plane would fly through the area as part of innocent passage by a diplomatic aircraft. Once it approached French airspace the pilot would radio French air control to request guidance on how to proceed.

The moment the Chinese plane appeared on French civilian and military radars space would be cleared in French airspace while two Dassault Rafales were redirected from their patrol to welcome the President Ming's plane and escort it further inside French territory.

The Chinese flight crew would be informed of the military escort and then directed to proceed to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. At this stage the Empress' convoy would also begin moving from Versailles to the airport so she could personally welcome President Ming after landing.

Once the plane had landed it was guided to a reserved gate by Paris Charles de Gaulle authorities. Once there as soon as the Chinese left their plane they would be welcomed by a honour guard holding French and, the new, Chinese flags. Simultaneously a military band played the Chinese anthem. At the end of a long red carpet Empress Thérèse awaited her most honoured guest and further behind a large number of press stood ready to take pictures of the momentous occasion, the first Franco-Chinese visit in a generation and more importantly the first one with a democratic mainland China in a century.

When President Ming approached her, Thérèse would begin walking towards the woman herself and extend a hand in greeting. "Welcome to the Empire of France Madam President, it is my distinct honour to receive you today and I look forward to productive discussions" She spoke, as soon as Yi returned the handshake bright flashes from the cameras would erupt.

With the clear instructions from the French authorities the Chinese Presidential jet would land safely at Charles de Gaulle airport. Once Yi and her escort had left the plane they admittedly were somewhat impressed by the reception. Of course Russia had already set an incredible standard for a warm and sincere welcome, but Russia and China were much more natural partners than France and China so it was more of a surprise that the French went out of their way too. Already from the other side of the gate Yi had noticed the press behind the French Empress so she would make sure to look her best on the picture as she approached the Frenchwoman and shook her hand. "Thank you, Your Imperial Majesty. It is my honor to be invited to your beautiful country and I likewise look forward to potentially great relations between the rising powers we both represent"

Thérèse smiled at the Chinese response. "I am glad to hear so, Madam President. Perhaps it is best then we proceed to Versailles immediately so we can commence on our packed itinerary" She said, maintaining her smile. Upon Chinese agreement the Azure Guard would escort both heads of state back out of the airport and to the awaiting motorcade. Both inside the airport and outside it a large number of French Chinese were kept away from the two women. With many being descendants from Chinese who had fled the mainland after the victory of the communists there was much excitement to see the person who had finally defeated Chinese communism and returned China to the country their parents and grandparents loved.

Once inside the limousine the group under Azure Guard escort would be taken through Paris on the way to Versailles. Having been briefed on the Chinese President's appreciation of culture they had made sure to take the scenic route which took them by many of the famous landmarks. Once at Versailles the insanity of Paris and the large crowds were kept at a distance by the regular security arrangements around the palace. After the car stopped at the entrance the door would be opened allowing them to walk into the palace and continuing to the Empress' office. In the office Thérèse would offer Yi to sit on one of the luxurious couches while she would sit in the one opposite. Palace staff would walk in at that point to offer both refreshments.

After settling in, Thérèse would begin the conversation proper. "Once again I must thank you for accepting the invitation. The Republican achievements in China have been nothing less than incredible and your ability to provide true freedom to a population three times the size of Europe seems like a Herculean feat. This is exactly the kind of partner France is looking for to maintain peace and global freedom"
