Subject: Opening Communication to China

Dear Minister Jia,

Firstly, I would like to extend our warmest regards to you and the esteemed nation of China.

With great anticipation, I write to propose the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between our two countries, marked by the mutual opening of Embassies in Kabul and Beijing. This step, I believe, will pave the way for deeper collaboration and friendship between our nations.

Our nations' shared geography and proximity, with our borders connecting in the Wakhan Corridor, underscore the importance of deepening our ties. This geographic connection serves as a physical link and a symbol of the potential for regional cooperation and collaboration. We can leverage our strategic locations to enhance trade, connectivity, and security by establishing official communication channels and representation.

Furthermore, I wish to address a matter of shared global concern. The recent terror attacks in London have unfortunately cast shadows upon the religion of Islam, associating it with actions that starkly contradict its principles of peace and compassion. Afghanistan, as a proud Islamic republic, is committed to dispelling these misconceptions and working towards a narrative of unity and understanding. Through our cooperative efforts, I believe we can contribute to reshaping perceptions and promoting global harmony.

I look forward to your response and discussing these matters further.

Sincerely,

Yusuf Agha,
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Your Excellency,

Thank you for your message. The border between our nations and the long history of cultural exchanges between in particular the Afghan people and our Uyghur population make positive relations between our two nations indeed of critical importance.

The recent attacks in London have been beyond shocking and show that there must be both a coordinated front against terrorism and a recognition that Islam is and fundamentally remains a religion of peace. While Islam is not the largest religion in China, with as many as 50 million Muslims our country still constitutes one of the largest Islamic populations in the world.

Considering this, I am happy to formally re-establish formal diplomatic relations between our two countries and am open to a wider discussion on these topics.

Kind regards,
Yuan Jia,
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China.

Dear Minister Jia,

Thank you for your thoughtful response and for emphasizing the importance of our shared commitment to peace and security. I believe this can be the building blocks of a strong and prosperous future for both of our nations.

As you rightly stated, Islam is a religion of peace, and its principles stand against such acts of violence. Afghanistan is committed to working with nations like China to promote this understanding while combating those who misuse religion to justify harm.

On a more immediate note, Afghanistan recognizes the growing security challenges posed by extremist groups like Al-Qaeda, whose presence remains alarmingly close in our borders. With this in mind, we seek to enhance our defence and attack capabilities to safeguard our stability within the country. We would welcome discussions on the potential acquisition of military equipment from China, which we view as vital in strengthening our ability to confront these threats.

We propose an in-person meeting to discuss these points in more detail, including establishing Embassies in our capital cities. We would be honoured to host you in Kabul, or we are more than willing to travel to Beijing if it better suits your schedule.

Sincerely,

Yusuf Agha,
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Your Excellency,

The defeat of a group like al-Qaeda is in our mutual interest, and so is the stability of your administration. This makes military and strategic cooperation a top priority in our view. Considering the general safety situation right now I believe it might be best to host this meeting in Beijing. I do hereby extend a formal invitation for yourself and any personnel you may want to bring along. I am certain we can establish a lasting Sino-Afghan cooperation that will guarantee the longterm stability of Central Asia.

Kind regards,
Yuan Jia,
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China.

Dear Minister Jia,

Thank you for your formal invitation to meet in Beijing. I sincerely appreciate your acknowledgement of the shared interests between our nations, particularly in combating extremist groups like Al-Qaeda and ensuring the stability of our respective regions.

I completely agree that military and strategic cooperation should be a top priority. The path to peace and prosperity in Afghanistan is directly linked to the efforts of trusted partners, including the Republic of China. By working together, I am confident that we can effectively tackle these challenges and lay a strong foundation for stability and development in Asia.

I am honoured to accept your invitation to visit Beijing. I will be accompanied by a small delegation, which includes my senior advisor and a few security officials, to ensure that our discussions are both thorough and productive. Please provide any necessary logistical details regarding the meeting, including suggested dates, venues, and specific protocols we should follow. We will do our best to coordinate effectively to ensure the success of this vital engagement.

Sincerely,

Yusuf Agha,
